Jerry lucked into Jimmy Johnson. Without what Jimmy brought to the Cowboys, Jerry wouldn't be half the Billionaire he is today.
We have 30 years of proof that he can't win without someone like Jimmy. Evidence says had he not hired Jimmy, he would've never even gotten to ONE Super Bowl. The 1995 SB made him believe he was actually a football guy and all us fans have to pay the price until he dies.

Technically we have more proof than that. Not only did he need Jimmy, he also needed no salary cap to build his winning team.

It is significantly more challenging to win today than it was in the early 90's.

Jerry Jones has gone full blown AL DAVIS CRAZY!!! Sound familiar?

How did Al Davis ruin the Oakland Raiders? What decisions did he make that led to the team's downfall?

Al Davis, the long-time owner and coach of the Oakland Raiders, is a polarizing figure in football history. While he is credited with numerous successes, including three Super Bowl championships and the establishment of the Raiders as a significant franchise, several decisions during the later years of his leadership contributed to the team's decline. Here are some key factors that many fans and analysts believe led to the downfall of the Raiders under Davis:

1. Coaching Changes
Davis was notorious for his quick hook with coaches. After initially finding success with coaches like John Madden and Tom Flores, he began to cycle through coaches frequently. This instability disrupted the team's continuity and development. For instance, after firing successful coach Art Shell in the early '90s, he hired several coaches in quick succession, including Mike White and Joe Bugel, none of whom had lasting success.

2. Drafting and Personnel Decisions
In the later years of his tenure, Davis's draft choices became increasingly questionable. He often favored speed over fundamentals, leading to selections that did not pan out. The Raiders had several poor draft classes in the late '90s and early 2000s, which failed to produce long-term talent. Notably, the 2007 draft, where the Raiders selected JaMarcus Russell first overall, is often cited as one of the worst in NFL history.

3. Aging Roster and Lack of Rebuilding
Davis held onto veteran players for too long, failing to transition to younger talent. Many key players from the Raiders' successful past were retained even as their performance declined. This reluctance to rebuild and embrace a new direction contributed to a stagnant team that struggled to compete.

4. Off-Field Issues
Davis's management style was sometimes seen as erratic and confrontational, which affected the team's culture. There were also issues related to player discipline and commitment. Several players faced legal troubles, and the lack of a strong organizational culture made it difficult to maintain a competitive edge.

5. Inconsistent Leadership
Davis's vision for the Raiders often clashed with the realities of the modern NFL. His insistence on maintaining a particular style of play and his reluctance to adapt to the evolving landscape of the league hindered the team's ability to compete effectively. His approach to team management became increasingly out of step with contemporary practices, leading to leading to missed opportunities

Conclusion

While Al Davis's contributions to the Raiders and the NFL as a whole are undeniable, his later years were marked by decisions that led to a decline in the team's performance. The combination of poor coaching choices, questionable draft strategies, an aging roster, and a failure to adapt to the changing dynamics of the league ultimately contributed to the Raiders' struggles in the years following their last Super Bowl appearance in 2002.

Well the jones boys have some sort of plan for next season that requires them to roll the leftover cap
they have now into 2025. Fish has been saying this for months.

What that plan is nobody knows lol.

So he isnt spending anymore cap this season.
More with less is the true motto.
Maybe this is a forced tank of sorts also to get them a high draft pick. (hopefully not deion"s son lol)

This means they have their eye on someone who will go in the top 10 picks.
Only time will tell, but jerry has thrown away this season.

He has completely destroyed the joy of being a Dallas Cowboys fan,I'm almost at the point of hoping we lose the rest of our games and I hope the fans at the stadium wear bags on their heads.. Jones needs embarrassed
Lol, me and my brother were saying that when watching the game Sunday. We were like people need to start wearing a bag on their heads at the games. But knowing JJ he’d probably market it someway and make money off of it.
