Dude is so unserious the roster sucks especially on offense. CD and Tyler Smith are the only players on offense worth anything they're asking way too much from our B level quarterback.

Jerry Jones has gone full blown AL DAVIS CRAZY!!! Sound familiar?

How did Al Davis ruin the Oakland Raiders? What decisions did he make that led to the team's downfall?

Al Davis, the long-time owner and coach of the Oakland Raiders, is a polarizing figure in football history. While he is credited with numerous successes, including three Super Bowl championships and the establishment of the Raiders as a significant franchise, several decisions during the later years of his leadership contributed to the team's decline. Here are some key factors that many fans and analysts believe led to the downfall of the Raiders under Davis:

1. Coaching Changes
Davis was notorious for his quick hook with coaches. After initially finding success with coaches like John Madden and Tom Flores, he began to cycle through coaches frequently. This instability disrupted the team's continuity and development. For instance, after firing successful coach Art Shell in the early '90s, he hired several coaches in quick succession, including Mike White and Joe Bugel, none of whom had lasting success.

2. Drafting and Personnel Decisions
In the later years of his tenure, Davis's draft choices became increasingly questionable. He often favored speed over fundamentals, leading to selections that did not pan out. The Raiders had several poor draft classes in the late '90s and early 2000s, which failed to produce long-term talent. Notably, the 2007 draft, where the Raiders selected JaMarcus Russell first overall, is often cited as one of the worst in NFL history.

3. Aging Roster and Lack of Rebuilding
Davis held onto veteran players for too long, failing to transition to younger talent. Many key players from the Raiders' successful past were retained even as their performance declined. This reluctance to rebuild and embrace a new direction contributed to a stagnant team that struggled to compete.

4. Off-Field Issues
Davis's management style was sometimes seen as erratic and confrontational, which affected the team's culture. There were also issues related to player discipline and commitment. Several players faced legal troubles, and the lack of a strong organizational culture made it difficult to maintain a competitive edge.

5. Inconsistent Leadership
Davis's vision for the Raiders often clashed with the realities of the modern NFL. His insistence on maintaining a particular style of play and his reluctance to adapt to the evolving landscape of the league hindered the team's ability to compete effectively. His approach to team management became increasingly out of step with contemporary practices, leading to leading to missed opportunities

Conclusion

While Al Davis's contributions to the Raiders and the NFL as a whole are undeniable, his later years were marked by decisions that led to a decline in the team's performance. The combination of poor coaching choices, questionable draft strategies, an aging roster, and a failure to adapt to the changing dynamics of the league ultimately contributed to the Raiders' struggles in the years following their last Super Bowl appearance in 2002.

WE should make some moves but not as buyers. Sellers. See what other teams would offer for guys we have. We aren't going anywhere at all so to give up assets to make an in-season push would be lunacy.

He's done it before when we were going nowhere.

What Jerry is really saying:

"I suck at trading and I've painted myself into a corner, so Kiss Off."

This was set up to be a throwaway season from the beginning. Bring back MM for his last year with no extension, hiring Zimmer to a one yr deal, only signing a few scrubs in FA.

If they werent going to try in the offseason then there is no reason to give up picks during the season at this point on this sinking ship.

Problem is, there isnt any real plan going forward, other than resigning Dak, CD and Micah to elite new contracts.

This guy truly, truly believes he's done enough to field a championship level team. What an absolutely delusional narcissist. Note to Jerry......the first step to fixing a problem is.... admitting that you have one.
Him and his kid always believe that. They’ll fire McCarthy this year, round and round it goes. They’re nothing more than a joke.

Its beyond parody like at this point.

This team is has Major league flick football vibes.

Maybe Dak needs glasses, have the coaches never figure that one?

Tank should be putting needles into a voodoo doll of Purdy.

Halftime at SanFran Big Mike will have a speech about a little boy in the hospital.

Got a friend in the Dallas area and he claims whispers of paper bags if 49ers put the whoopin on us. Our next home game after the Niners is the Eagles. I find it hard to belief some paper bags would come out against them but..........................
Eagles fans may be the ones wearing paper bags in two or three weeks. They’re another rudderless ship.
