Murray is a big, fast linebacker that can blitz and pursue sideline to sideline. His measurables warranted a first round pick.

But his football IQ has always been questionable. He will try to run around blocks instead of taking them on; leaving him so far out of position you see gaps like in the Carolina game open up. He is completely lost in coverage. In pursuit, he takes terrible angles to the ballcarrier. He has very undisciplined eyes and basically "does his own thing" out there. When he guesses right, you will see a splash play every now and then. Most of the time, it's a disaster because pro offenses know they can fool him easily.

In Logan Wilson Dallas gets a linebacker that is a tick slower than Murray and not nearly the same athlete. But at least he knows where to go and what his assignments are.

They need to stop worrying about how they look working out and take note how they look on the field. Murray is probably bigger, stronger, more athletic but it means nothing because he's a deer in headlights on the field. While Logan is making the right calls, lining guys up, communicates, making the tackle, just don't have him 1on 1 with a wr and he's fine. Draft better, cause Murray ain't it.

OK. Thats fair, but let me ask this. So, I'm just using this guy as an example (and I love him). But if George Pickens has a first half where he doesnt seem interested, not running crisp routes etc. Do you think Schotty can just bench him for the 2nd half and not let him on the field? I don't think he has that power.
