Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on @1053thefan on his thoughts coming out of Sunday night’s loss at New York: “We’re not at the level that we thought we would be. … We didn’t play well last week. New York had more to do with it than I thought they would. … We have to be ready to step up the level of play (vs. Washington).”

It has been 11,861 days since the infamous Jerry Jones/Jimmy Johnson divorce. 11,861 days since NFL-level GM competency literally walked out the door.

“We’re not at the level that we thought we would be..."

<being possessed by Samuel L. Jackson>

Surprised <expletive>?

So the owner underestimated a division rival on the road and didn’t anticipate that they would need to play at a high level to beat NY… and now says we need to play at a high level to beat Washington

Got it. While other teams work and prepare to win games, we base our level of effort on what we anticipate the level of challenge our opponent might offer us.

No wonder we get out hustled and out worked on a regular basis lol…

....... New York had more to do with it than I thought they would. ….

Well, um, yeah. It's the NFL, every team is populated with professional-level players that play to win. This has been one of the issues with this club, the feeling of ENTITLEMENT just because they are a Dallas Cowboy. The hatred with that moniker in itself inspires opposing teams to give their best shot. Teams are just not going to roll over and lay on their backs and pee on themselves just because the Cowboys step on the field.

A lot of teams think of the Dallas Jones’ as a bye week and have for a very long time.

Hey numbnuts, play the starters at least a series or 2 every PS game. Idiots.

It's a double-edged sword. Play the starters in the pre-season and a major contributor gets hurt, like Romo did, our fans say he shouldn't have been playing in the pre-season.

Don't play the main starters at all in the preseason and we start off sloppy, our fans say they should be playing in the pre-season.

I understand both sides. Glad I don't have to make those decisions.

This season has the potential to blow the top off Jerry's kingdom.

Imagine the PC's after, heaven forbid, 0-3.
