Jerry, you have a problem. Not just one problem. A lot of problems. I'm not just talking about the way the team has been built. I'm talking, for the purposes of this thread, the legacy of the Cowboys. The legacy that the Cowboys have is in danger. Here are at least 5 situations, as I see them, that could even further diminish our franchise's legacy beyond what Jerry has done.

  1. If the Chiefs win the Super Bowl this year, they will have 5 Lombardis. When we last won ours, we were one of only 2 teams to accomplish that. If the Chiefs were to win it all this year, then there would be 5 teams with at least 5 Lombardis since the Cowboys were last in the SB.
  2. Philadelphia has been to 3 Super Bowls and is looking like they could challenge for another SB appearance since the Cowboys last made it. They have won a Lombardi, torn down their team, rebuilt it, made another appearance, and look how they are now Jerry. Not good. Not good at all.
  3. Washington is a problem. Amazing what changing ownerships can do for a franchise. I'm not saying they will win a title or what have you this year, but they are now a problem for the Cowboys. They just won their first playoff game since 2005. They are one of 3 teams to have not made it to a conference championship game (Texans and Dolphins being the others) since we were last in a conference championship game. They may very well make an appearance before long. With several players and coaches that used to be here, I might add.
  4. Houston has only been a franchise since 2002. They are looking like they might at some point also make it to a conference championship game before long. Will that before Dallas gets to one? Wouldn't be a good look for Jerry if they do.
  5. Detroit went 0-16 in 2008. Look at them now. They are a top pick for teams from the NFC to make it to the SB this year, and they won their first playoff game since 1991 last year and made it to an NFCC. They've gone 0-16 to an NFCC game all before we have gotten back to one.
The irony for Jerry is this. He talks about his legacy and being the only one that can do the GM job of the Cowboys. Yet, his very legacy that he and Jimmy built together is crumbling before his very eyes. 2 teams have even passed us on Lombardis, and the Chiefs may join them before long. Jerry must change the way he runs the team before his legacy implodes any further. The only legacy, at this rate, he will leave is one of constantly leading in Forbes. That can only last so long.

So, Jerry. If for nothing else other than your own ego, I suggest changing the way you run your team. Otherwise, your legacy will not be what you want it to be. It will instead be one of, what if? Is that what you want Jerry? Is that the legacy you want?

Jerry just hopes he can make it through the night without having to use the toilet five times. He could not possibly care less about any of your five points.

Correction. Jerry, you are the problem.

No doubt he's the problem, but he also has a problem because of him being the problem. With him being someone with narcissistic tendencies, one thing that would bother him is his legacy being demolished, yet that's exactly what he is doing.

Jerry's brain is failing him, he should be in a nursing home right now not in charge of an NFL team but his children don't want to be disowned so they keep acting like everything's fine.

The old man will keep doing what he's doing, his condition will only get worse and his entourage will keep enabling him. This is only the beginning, things are about to get even worse.

I would imagine you're right, but, especially with what you're saying and when he watches the events transpire as they are, surely he understands in some way that the way last offseason went is not acceptable and will only demolish his legacy further. If he cares about his legacy, that is.

 This absolutely cracks me up. People need to realize one thing....And one thing only....Jerry's legacy has already been written. He will go down in history as the owner that destroyed this teams proud legacy of winning. Jimmy won 3 Super Bowls. Not Jerry..... Jerry has had almost 30 years to find a franchise QB since Jimmy left....Couldn't do it. In a QB driven league......this clown has tried to sell you Quincy Carter....Chad Hutchinson.....Drew Henson....Tony Romo......and Dak Prescott...as franchise QBs.

Let that sink in .....

No doubt, that was why I ended the OP the way I did. Is that the legacy he wants? If so,then he will continue the way he has and fans will become more apathetic or it will ruin further what he and Jimmy built. But, if he wants the legacy he set out to build, then things must change with the way this team is run and operated. There are no other ways about it. Continue on the current course of destruction, change course to try to build a winner, or bring someone in who will. That's the fork in the road the Cowboys are at now.

When Washington actually poses a threat I will worry. We had our worst team in a long while and still were on the verge of sweeping them.

.....They just spent a top 2 pick on a QB and won a playoff game in the same year.... Jerry can't say he's done that....Ever

Make no mistake....Washington just blew past us......and they aren't looking back. Just wait until they add another couple draft classes....and the Giants trade up for Shedeur Sanders. We are gonna be stuck in the basement for the next 5-7 years.

Facts for sure but not a problem. eagles are what they always have been, Chiefs will have their run and eventually be done, the real Jayden Daniels will show up sooner or later trust me on that I have watched the kid, oh he's good athlete play QB well enough but he ain't all that. Houston meh, I do like C.J. Stroud, Demeco and his receivers, Detroit will not make noise for long.
Nah no problem

Jayden Daniels is the real deal, if he can stay healthy. He's not big, so he can't run as much as Hurtz and Allen, so I fear for his health. But he's really good, so calm and unfazed. And pretty accurate, plus throws a good deep ball.

If the Washington defense improves, the Cowboys aren't going to dominate Washington any longer. And with the Eagles offensive line and Saquon, they are going to be formidable for a while no matter who is at QB.

So let's hope the Giants don't improve any time soon.

The bottom line, if the Cowboys can't own the NFC East teams, they're going to be stinkers for quite some time...because they don't own non-NFC East teams.

I am convinced Jerry only wants to do things his way so he gets the credit. Jerry runs his team like a dictator. He wants a say in every part of the business. From scouting to who is playing during gameday. Its kind of wild to me. Jerry need to spend these years enjoying his money and family. Hire a GM and let him be a GM, Hire a head coach and let him be a head coach. I wish the media would be ruthless when they bash Jerry but I am sure he likes that too.
