One thing I keep reading here is that Jerry doesn't care about winning. I'm probably going to get killed for this but I totally disagree with that. Jerry wants to win as much as any of us. The problem is he wants to win with the caveat of him getting the credit and being see as a Football guy. It burns him to this day about not getting any credit for the "Jimmy team".

The other problem is that because not only is he not a Football guy, but is in fact inept and that prevents us from winning, but as far as just the idea of winning goes, he absolutely wants to win IMHO
I mean someone posts this sentiment once a week. But thanks for taking care of it this time.

Being the most valuable franchise, and maintaining that is what is #1.
Winning a Super Bowl now would be the icing on the cake for him... But it is #2

So you said it yourself. Winning isn’t the #1 priority. Doing it his way is his priority.

I would agree he wants to win and has a drive to win. But he has a stronger drive to get all the attention and credit for winning. So his stronger drive of attention prohibits his weaker drive to win.

So he would rather lose and be the center of attention then win having a backseat. So his drive to win is not strong enough to allow him to win IMO because if he knew how to win AND be the center of attention then he would have done it by now. Jerry's currency is attention. I feel Jerry is driven more by attention than anything else, including money and football success. If Dallas media really wanted changes to the football team they would stop doing any interviews, stories or give Jerry any attention. That would break him.

His "want to win" is just talk.... his want to control everything and get credit for everything is the action. Two entirely different things. I put more credence in what one does rather that what he says. You all should know Jerry by now.
So the answer is no...he does not want to win. On the field that is.

agree....he WANTS to win but keeps getting in the way. Shoulda hired a real GM after Jimmy but never did and will keep up this slow, circling of the drain until he does or his dopey kid does.
Exactly. I’m not saying he isn’t the problem. He is. I’m just saying the comments that he doesn’t care about winning are wrong. People seem to have a problem separating the two.

You are correct. People get really PO'd and emotional and I get it but the old man wants to win, just can't get out of his own way and the scary part is we're looking like the Raiders overall. Some solid success and Super Bowls long ago but the narcissistic owner and his goofy kid reign supreme and can't get out of the way and delegate properly.

Jerry the GM wants to win. Jerry the owner is a business man, so Jerry the Owner, always overrides, Jerry the GM. Jerry the owner is worth 8B.....Jerry the GM is left out to dry.....

Jerry says he would do anything to win another super bowl, but that is clearly a lie. He won't do 'anything', because he refuses to do the one thing he knows (and has admitted) needs to be done.

Translation - Jerry doesn't want to win as much as his defenders say he does.

Jerry doesn’t want to win as badly as 30 other NFL owners. They all hired a GM. In fact all of the winning owners of the last 26 SBs did. Jerry doesn’t want to win THAT bad.

Oh, I think he wants to win
But as you said it has to be his way.
After 27 years if not reaching the NFCC game I think he would be embarrassed as he is proving that he can't build a winner.
The longer he keeps going the more he disproves what he's trying to prove.
Meanwhile us long-suffering fans suffer the consequences

Fans such as I have belly ached about all sorts of Cowboys-related issues.
But while I am at modern dance class, Jerry is signing players. While you ruffians are unloading contraband on the docks, Jerry is signing team checks. While the Jerry haters are partying with Connie Stevens, Jerry is upgrading The Star and AT&Fee. And so it goes.
Jerry catches a lot of flak but he does things and we just chatter.

Jerry wants to win more than anything even his billions.
He just doesn't have the football knowledge and talent to run a franchise as a GM.
P.S.Jerry is rebuilding this year and probably next year also you know out with the old in with the new....so patience once again is required!
