Amazing.

Speaking of apples, did you know that they're more effective at keeping people awake than caffeine?

So the elephant that seems to be standing in the room that nobody seems to wish to address...

Paraphrase: "Bill P. was brought in to sell tickets for a new stadium." Last year several people questioned whether Jerry was more interested in winning, or making money...And I do believe they all were slammed pretty hard (I took the "noble" route and was 50/50 at best on the topic...Let's just say I am quite the diplomat.)

I pointed out that particular elephant. Hos commented on it as well. It is quite disheartening.

Did you also know that in every barrel there is one rotten apple?

Indeed. As evidenced by the CowboysZone population.

Did you know apples are 25% air? That's why they float.

I think Jerry wants to win as much as anything,

Me too

because he knows its good business and will mean more money and notoriety.

I haven't thought of him so much in this way, but the evidence supports your point ... the guy has been relentless in marketing his brand/club.

But I think it's important to him to be seen as the guy who made it happen.

Right. Which is why hiring Parcells was a big deal. To his credit, Jerry was willing to bite the bullet on taking credit in the interest of turning the club around.

My opinion is that Jerry was backsliding into "old Jerry" when he hired Wade - - until the end of Wade's Year 2, when it became clear that something had to change (and quickly).

I don't know if it made him a yes man, but Wade did show a remarkable tolerance and patience with Jerry's BS early on. Wade was willing to work for an overcontrolling owner who did not allow his head coach to pick his offensive coordinator. Wade was willing to serve as the nominal head coach even though he really functioned as a co-head coach - with his clearly identified successor-in-waiting already exercising independent control over the offense.

Then the season-ending meltdowns versus the Ravens and Eagles happened. Jerry was stunned and at a loss. After much thought, Jerry decides to turn to his head coach and, finally, begins to listen up real good.

Wade is successfully negotiating what began as a very difficult situation. There aren't many other coaches who could have done it.

Though I agree with most of what you say I am sadly under the impression based on actions, and now words that it is:

a) Ego,
b) Money,
c) Winning

In that order. Of course maybe JJ would disagree... :lmao2:
Owners of any business have some ego and love making money. You achieve the money making part in the NFL by winning.

funny stuff....:D I really enjoy your posts.

I don't see the big deal. Jerry is drunk having fun. There's nothing wrong with that if you can handle not getting in trouble. Of course, I don't see a lot of problem with what people do in their spare time. Although I admit it, even though I 'm in the vast minority, I do get upset when I see other Cowboys players partying it up. I just don't see a problem with the owner getting smashed one night. But this should tell you a little bit about that early 90s team. I bet he and Irvin had a few wild nights together. LOL

My human head weighs 9 pounds, but that's because of all the fluid that's built up in it from hitting myself with a hammer. :duh:
