Jerry's having a good year

I’ve been critical of Jerry the GM but you have to admit, he’s done a good job this year.

Draft pick hits: Tyler Booker, Donovan Ezeiruaku, Shavon Revel, Shemar James. (Not giving up on Jaydon Blue)

Free agents: Kenneth Murray(playing better than given credit for), Sanborn before he got injured, Javonte Williams, Osawaru Odighizuwa, Dante Fowler, James Houston, Perrion Winfrey, Hakeem Adeniji, Joe Milton

Trades: Quinnen Williams, George Pickens, Kenny Clark, Jadaveon Clowney, Logan Wilson

Jettisoned: Parsons for 2 1st round picks and Clark, sent Mazi packing.

Coaches: Brian Shottenheimer and his coaching staff. Jerry to the risk in giving Schotty the chance he deserved.

All these players are either starters or solid depth.
No way! You don’t get to jump back on the band wagon now.

Us real fans will kick you right off as soon as you try to crawl your way back on. It isn’t happening. We’ve been here the whole time.

We don’t need casual fair weather fans around here.

Several good moves this year by the front office. Don't know if it will be enough or be too late, but I think we can acknowledge the moves since the draft at least.

I think the free agency period before the draft was iffy. We did get Javonte Williams, Solomon Thomas and Fowler, but we also traded picks for Murray (who I am not as high on as you are) and Elam, picked up Payton Turner, who has done nothing, and Miles Sanders, who looked OK before he was injured. We also appear to have missed on Rob Jones and Sahdiqq Charles but did OK with Adeniji. Jury's still out on whether Milton Williams was worth a pick as well.

I wasn't high on the Booker pick at first because I thought we needed to focus on the defensive line (since we had T.J. Bass and Hoffman as OL options). However, if you would have told me that we'd be adding Clark and Williams to the DL, I would have felt better about the Booker pick.

Eze has looked like a winner. Need to see more of Revel and James before saying that, but since he was a late-round pick, James just has to be a sold contributor during his time here to make the pick worthwhile.

The Pickens trade was a great move and realizing that our DEs needed help after the Parsons trade and signing Clowney was a good move, both praised by plenty of us at the time (and panned by some, of course).

My only wish still is that we'd done enough to be more competitive early so we wouldn't need to pretty much win the rest of our games to make the playoffs. But at least we may be set up to where we can hit the ground running from the start of the season next year.

Yep.

If they don’t make the playoffs how do we say he did a good job?
I think we can still acknowledge the moves we've made to improve the roster and give the front office credit for those. We can also acknowledge the lack of quality moves in free agency to get us to where we would have been more competitive to start the year.

I particularly feel that way about the corner position. We knew that Diggs wasn't likely to be ready to start the season. But we let a corner (Lewis) who was playing at a high level for us leave in free agency and we brought in a failed first-rounder (Elam). Revel was a good value in the third, but we also knew he wasn't going to be ready to start the year. So we had Bland, a failed first-rounder and not much else. In no way can you just assume that's going to be good enough.

With Bland injured, we should have at least kept Lewis instead of trading for Elam. Lewis is only making $5.8 million this season. Now, maybe Lewis wouldn't have signed here for the same amount, but I saw no indication that we tried to re-sign him, even though he would have been a great fit for the slot in this scheme because he's good in coverage and is not afraid to get physical in run support and blitzing.

The same GM who fielded one of the worst defenses we’ve ever seen? Yeah, sure, he made some no brainer trades to try to salvage the season, but the team won’t make the playoffs. We’ll get em next year, right?

I’d have a hard time giving skelator credit if he cured cancer. The moves he has made will be beneficial in future especially if he couples it with a quality FA and draft but they needed to be made sooner. The defense we fielded prior to the deadline was atrocious .

If we’re lucky enough to make it in the dance I can assure you the nfc don’t want to see us. Well maybe the rams don’t care they may he SB favorites

The Pickens trade was the best move but knowing Jerry he’ll find a way to screw it up

I see the lapdog is kneading his masters lap again.
Kittens "making biscuits" or kneading is a natural behavior rooted in kittenhood, where they knead their mother's belly to stimulate milk flow.

I’m afraid aloud be able to get out of Jerry is some Johnny Walker.

Since you like to argue that people shouldn’t “give up” too soon.

It’s reasonable to counter argue that people shouldn’t take victory laps too soon either.

I would be more than happy to give the FO credit if the cowboys make the playoffs and win some playoff games. I would love for it to happen. But it’s gotta happen first.
It must be easy to run victory laps when people have plenty of anointing oil in stock.

You do you.

he also leads the team in missed tackle, blown coverage, being pancaked, covering linemen instead of TE, being lost, misreading plays, filling wrong holes, not filling holes......basically, he leads the team in being the worst player
Couch potato opinion.

I agree, they not going to give him any credit

No doubt some of these moves should’ve been made earlier.
