Jerry's having a good year

Murray is a key weakness in our D. He's getting tackles by default, funneling.

But I agree that several moves have worked out.

  • The Micah trade is TBD, depending on how we use the huge cap savings and draft picks. But I do think he may've had some negative locker room effects. Again TBD
  • J Williams has been great
  • Clowney was a good add
  • Q Williams is one the best adds in decades
  • Pickens was a great add
  • Adios Mazi (if we are only referring to this year's move not the draft)

and so on

As often as I've given Jerry a hard time, it seems he's outdone himself lately. One might contend that even a blind squirrel finds a nut sometimes, but Jerry's found a bunch of them lately. I've gotta give credit where it's due in this case. Let's just see if he keeps it up in 2026. ;)

Why are you giving credit to someone for cleaning the sheets after HE is the one who crapped the bed in the first place?

I kinda stopped after you suggesting Murray is playing well. Oof.

Wasn't Clowney a signing, not a trade?
Apparently you stopped watching as the season went on murray's made some plays so is Sam Williams and some other guys but we were heavily critical of Murray early in the season but he's made some big plays lately he may not be the perfect linebacker but it helps post by week to remember these are not the same players are playing amongst other better players and it's elevated the whole entire team..

Maybe you shouldn't have stopped reading, apparently you stopped watching, I think he's still playing because he's making plays...

I mean it doesn't hurt that post bye week, they've added all kinds of guys like Overshown and Logan Wilson, you had both your safeties back like even the safeties that people were being critical on in hooker and Donovan Wilson are playing better why because the team has better players on the field at the same time now they're creating pressure up front now it's helping the back end...

Not by default he's made a couple other plays one of his deflections led it to an interception he had another one where I believe he also deflected ball didn't turn into interception but turned into a punt he's made more plays than you're giving him credit for it just when people are hard on Sam Williams he's made at least four plays this year that stand out that I remember things have changed we were highly critical of a lot of those players earlier in the season but now that they're playing with better talent around them They are now playing better by default not funneling this isn't a Jalen Smith thing where you say well yeah he had a lot of tackles but they're all way downfield he's been playing better he may not be a top line player but there's a reason he's still playing you think they if they had a better option that he wouldn't be on the bench I mean they don't play these guys on purpose just because they're bad and they said oh you know what we're going to continue to play him anyway no he's probably their best option outside of using Wilson and Overshown..
And I get it I don't want him back next year or Sanborn we'll see how that works out but he has been making more plays apparently than you missed He may look like a weakness to you but I remember some key plays a couple nice tackles and they weren't way down field i've seen somewhere he's been right in the scrum with everyone else...

Maybe I've been overcome with joy and appreciation for something that might prove overstated in the long run?! Will 2026 reveal more, in due time? We'll see about that. I'm just trying to retain an open mind. I usually try to avoid holding grudges. There are also exceptions, however . . .
Of course, I reserve the right to change my mind, if the idea suits me!

I’ve been critical of Jerry the GM but you have to admit, he’s done a good job this year.

Draft pick hits: Tyler Booker, Donovan Ezeiruaku, Shavon Revel, Shemar James. (Not giving up on Jaydon Blue)

Free agents: Kenneth Murray(playing better than given credit for), Sanborn before he got injured, Javonte Williams, Osawaru Odighizuwa, Dante Fowler, James Houston, Perrion Winfrey, Hakeem Adeniji, Joe Milton

Trades: Quinnen Williams, George Pickens, Kenny Clark, Jadaveon Clowney, Logan Wilson

Jettisoned: Parsons for 2 1st round picks and Clark, sent Mazi packing.

Coaches: Brian Shottenheimer and his coaching staff. Jerry to the risk in giving Schotty the chance he deserved.

All these players are either starters or solid depth.

Has he had an afair with another hooker?

This fanbase is behaving like the team is 10-2. Its sad to see how mediocre expectations have become for this franchise, they make them looks like its on pair with the Browns or Jaguars.
yes by all means anyone acting excited should be taken out and whipped in a public square.

No doubt some of these moves should’ve been made earlier.
And it's understandable why some couldn't be. No doubt the Jets did not plan on giving up Quinnen Williams before this season went poorly and they decided the draft picks were more important.

I just think there are holes in the roster that all of us could see that we could also see were poorly patched by the team. That's part of the reason some were predicting a poor season; while some just always predict a poor season.

However, we can't change the past and have to live in the now. And I like how the now is looking. Management has made several moves that seem to be making us competitive in the now. So I'm just enjoying that even if it doesn't mean the playoffs because of those moves we didn't make before the season. I'm happy with the direction this team is going and hope the front office builds on it. This is the best I've felt about the roster in a while.

Murray has blown way more tackles then he has made
