They shouldn't say anything, just plan their strategy to go to war, if they have any balls to do it.

I'm trying not to read or respond to any posts or threads too much. As it is a waste of time actually and a no win situation. So I'll try to stay out of it for the most part. But this seems like a good one to respond to.

Anything Jerry does is going to be behind the scenes. He isn't going to publicly bring down the NFL. He might express disappointment and say they are going to do everything they can do to support Zeke in his appeal but that is about all I would expect.

It is what goes on behind closed doors that will be impactful. We will see how strong Jones is when Goodell's contract comes up. To a certain extent, the league can put anyone in that spot as long as that person is willing to take the public lumps when stuff goes bad. That is Goodell's job, to be a punching bag. And he is paid like a king to do it. I am sure there would be a long list of peeps willing to take that on.

And the problem that the NFLPA has is that careers in the NFL are so short, the current players don't want to make the sacrifice of their earning potential for players down the road.

About 40 percent of every roster is quite replaceable, and the players no this. They have to get theirs while they can.

erod-- yes i can see that...most players dont last long and do have to get what they can...plus the amount of money these players can get even in short amount of time can be a lifes worth of earnings?...if somehow they are really lucky and appear like a Brandon Carr who is at best "average" but was in right place at right time they can score huge amounts of money that could never be gotten outside of league...i get this..i cant really blame anyone because of this...but why do we have to have a commissioner?....cant there be a panel instead?...where they can regulate one another somehow?

The Commissioner should have nothing to do with handing out punishment. It should be some sort of panel agreed upon by both owners and the NFLPA. Goodell has made this whole thing a joke.
