I firmly believe that the GB game upset Jerry to no end. I feel like he was so angry that he made a decision that he was going to do nothing in this off-season. He was going to keep all the current coaches, keep everything status quo, and make the players and coaches pay for embarrassing him. You can see it in his interviews taking no accountability, allowing players to throw coaches under the bus, and simply just sitting back and watching this dumpster fire happen.

You can tell he's not even upset. He planned this all. He doesn't care. He literally threw a tantrum like a toddler and we are watching the result of that.

he did all that and is playing like bad things weren't going to happen for doing NOTHING at all. We were somehow going to go 17-0 or 12-5 again with a team that had nothing???? What sense does it make

You'll need to decide whether Jerry has no idea what he's doing or whether everything he does is part of this master plan that works out exactly as he intended.
It can be both.

I know thats hard for you to understand, but there are 2 options and both can be true. You can absolutely have no idea what your doing, and have a plan (doesnt mean its the right plan). Heck, my employer does that daily.

Jerry has no master plan other than maximizing profit. Win/lose doesn't matter until there is a hit to his wallet. Plus, he likes being in the spotlight and being the Cowboys owner gets him the attention he craves.

As crazy as it sounds, I believe a lot of this is true and I had a similar thought process. Any reasonable GM/Owner makes moves to improve now vs not having any plan forward after a playoff loss like that. JJ seems to have an imaginary line in his mind with what he spends on the team and correlates that with his expected level of winning. Since the team bombed in the playoffs last year, it did seem like he was so angry, he just sat on his hands and also had in mind that he would pay Dak/CD but they'd have to do it on their own if he paid them. It's totally idiotic and nonsensical but there is no other rhyme or reason to how everything transpired and the order everything transpired. And even now, when it's obvious what the outcome of the season will be, I still can't even fathom what JJ/SJ are going to do cause they just make moves that have no logical nature to them outside of saving money to some degree.

Even in Jerry's senile state of mind, never forget how cunning he once was, and begrudging. Do you truly think he is incapable of holding a grudge, even at the expense of the team?

Do I need to remind y'all of his recent radio interview and the threats he made? Does that sound like a man who doesn't wield immense power, ego or hold grudges?

Thats beside the point. What you are saying is ridiculous. To get payback for embarrassing him, Jones is putting in a position to embarrass him even worse?
I'd normally agree with this but JJ seems beyond this or at least at the time when he should have made moves, he didn't factor that in. In every interview where the deficiencies or concerns are pointed out, it's like a light goes off in his brain like damn... that was me, and then he responds defensively w/some asinine response (sunlight comment, Dak gotta do better comment, going off on radio djs, trade comments, etc).
Biggest point is, how can you not look back at when the team was successful and realize the only reason that success ended was because of the decision to take control and fire the one who created the success? This is the biggest embarrassment there is 20+ yrs later.

Jones is no idiot. In fact he is one of the more savvy owners in sports. It's just clear his priorities aren't on winning. What the OP is suggesting is something a gibbering idiot would do
Hahahaha. 100%. He’s not an idiot. He’s a con man. Amongst the greatest in the world. Winning is not a priority - that is the problem. For us.

Nah if he had a temper tantrum he would have axed everyone from MM to Dak etc...............
How this..........He simply doesn't care as this is a hobby or Toy for him I guess and done it all in the NFL from SB wins to HOF the works.
The question we need to ask ourselves is.............Why do we care?
Players seem ok with it making millions and hugging the opponents after every @@@ whipping.
Life is short........Live and let live baby!
GO METS!!!!
