Jersey Swapping

Is it any different than the teams getting together in a prayer circle and praying together after battling for 60 minutes?

I don't like that either.

If you must take that time to show the world your faith do it among your own teammates.

Ahhh the “Me me me, it’s all about me complex.”

Who cares!?

Just don’t exchange with an Eagle haha

Subtitle & selfless collective efforts mean less and less. The shirt swap is so anti team.

What are you thoughts?

I can't stand it. Here are two opponents battling it out for 60 minutes and then exchange signed jerseys at the end of the game. Just doesn't look right in my opinion.

I can see congratulating each other and a quick exchange of words, but swapping jerseys is just too much.

Do the swap in the locker room but get that stuff off the field.

Football is more enjoyable when you know both opponents can't stand each other compared to when opponents are best friends.
People seem to forget....It's just a game, not a war!

It's just a game, bro.

Not life and death.

Maybe you would prefer switchblades and winner cuts the Jersey off the vanquished?

Really.

The swapping doesn’t bother me. It’s a sign of respect. These guys battle on the field. Bust their ***** week in and week out. It’s cool to have someone who you respect enough to give your game worn jersey to

I have no problem with it. At the end of the game you should have some respect for your opponent win, lose, or draw. I always did. I don’t see why you would hate them unless they disrespect you in some way during the game? If they’re a good sportsman (and most players are) why would you have an issue in swapping jerseys?

After a loss, a player should at least appear to care in the moments after a game. Paling it up with the boys and flashing a big smile on the field after a loss is not showing good sportmanship. It is showing that you don't care about losing. Watch the coaches after the game. Its a quick handshake and then jog off the field. Thats how its done. Smiling in the face of the opponent you just lost to is sportsmanship? Groveling for a jersey is not sportsmanship either.
Fact is what I see on the field after a game is that too many players don't care if they lose. They got paid and thats all they really care about. Not all of them but back when the NFL was a growing sport and the players were not spoiled, coddled babies, it didn't happen on the field in front of fans.

Palling it up??? How is talking and enjoying a moment with your opponent who you’ve been knocking heads with all game not being a good sportsman???? Groveling for a Jersey? I take it as a sign of respect after an intense 3hr battle. Have you ever seen boxers after a fight and their reactions with their opponent? Most have a light hearted moment with the opponent as a sign of respect. Even if preflight antics stir up stupid emotions. I sometimes wonder about you guys and how much athletic competition some have really been involved in? At the end of the day it’s just a game.

Football is a sport/game. They aren't on the field saving lives, discovering cures for diseases, helping the poor, or creating world peace. The shouldn't 'hate' each other ever. Playing to win is the object of the game.

Have you ever participated in boxing? When the bell rings and the round starts, attempting to inflict as much bodily harm as possible is the goal. When a close fight goes the distance, the majority of the time the boxers hug and show a close, mutual admiration of each other. Exchanging jerseys is very similar.

As long as my guys are doing everything they can to win during the game, I don't give a flip how they interact once it's over.

I have seen that. It really seems good fun with what you lot are doing in Atlanta with your football club, and I think that it's partly why your lot won the Cup. In fact, I'd actually think that the NFL experience would be better with English football-style chants. I mean, if, for example, Lance Lenoir ever manages to get a TD, how fun would it be to shout at the opposing fans, "Lenoir scored a TD! Lenoir Scored a TD!! How **** must you be? Lenior scored a TD!"? Or, finding a player like Zeke to chant. I've got something in mind in the tune of In the Jungle.

There was a RB, an Ohio State back called Zeke! He came from the Buckeyes, nearly went to the Giants, but now he's alright! Zeke the back Zeke the back!

I think you catch my drift. Probably a **** chant, but we can work on that lol. Still, it'd be BRILLIANT to have at games. How fun would the atmosphere then? And the players do feed off that, you'd be surprised. I think it's partially why Atlanta United is growing in popularity from what I can tell where you are. In fact, it's probably why the MLS is actually gaining popularity. It's good fun to attend football matches, partially because the fan atmosphere is so great! It's really brilliant, and it's partly why it's the beautiful game.
Yeah you will likely never see that in the NFL. The college game is like what you are saying to a much smaller extent. They don't do it during games but the college game has a better atmosphere than the NFL. But chants, songs, etc. during the entire game is something that we will never see in the NFL. Crowds are either too corporate sit on your hands type to do that, or they just want to watch the game. Also, yeah not only are Atlanta United (I hate this name btw) fans far more passionate than Falcon fans. They are more passionate than every NFL fanbase.

Don't reallly care old man it's bigger things to worry about. The game is over this isn't no actual war or anything get a hold of yourself.

This isn't gladiator.

These are overpaid entertainers that are literally playing a game. Back in the day they mostly played for tradition/honor but that ship has long sailed.

It's hard to dislike an opponent that literally helped you make over six figures for 60 minutes work..... (not only that but it's so hard to make it as an NFL starter so there's at least some mutual respect)
They aren't overpaid jealous person.

Ask the 70s Cowboys and Commanders if they were "playing a game."

They still aren't over it.
They are old and times were different. Not close to the same outside of them playing the same sport..

Depending on the player, those go in glass in their man cave as soon as they can get the jersey to whomever framed it for them.
I think one time I saw emmitts smith awards in a room on one of his interviews and he had a lot of players jerseys in glass cases on display. some players are fans of other players. I like to collect sports cards and if I had more room in my house I would buy some cowboys players jerseys and put them on display.

Ever seen a soccer match after it's over?

They line up on the field for everyone to see and shake each other's hand and turn to fans and wave.

They are not about to start a scrum.

It's about the competition..

not territorial rights.

I guess you think becuz we used to be enemies with Britain in the Revolutionary War..

we should urinate on them now?

You would fit right in with the Mideval Knights..

but even they believed in chivalry.

Ever see two boxers hug after beating each other senseless?

seems many have never watched pawn stars. a jersey, worn in a game, has significantly more value than one that hasn't been worn in a game.
