Dallas Cowboys’ fans can breathe easy - Jessica Simpson is giving their vital Play Off game this weekend a miss.

The Texas songbird came under a barrage of criticism after she watched the team lose badly to the Philadelphia Eagles earlier this season.

Her current boyfriend, Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, had his worst game for the team as Simpson sat in the stands.

But her representatives have calmed fears that the singer would again jinx the high-flying Cowboys against the New York Giants.

“She is not attending. She’s working on a new album,” her publicist Cindy Berger said. “She will not be there, but she’ll be watching on TV and cheering Romo on.”

I just wish they would stop talking about Jessica Simpson.

Realistically, I don't think it stops until Tony Romo wins big in the Playoffs and therefore prove that she wasn't a distraction .

The amount of criticism she would have received had she attended and we lost would have been overwhelming. Rather than take any kind of risk at possibly damaging what is left of her public image, I'm sure the excuse of her working on her new album was created.

Once he has success in the Playoffs, I think alot of the talk will die down. I personally think the reverse will happen. I think people will see him dating her as a good thing, but he has to win, if not, she will be viewed as distraction.

JMO, I think it would have been a bigger deal with Troy Aikman dating a celeb if he hadn't won.

Now, back in Aikman's day, you didn't have all the Message Boards, TMZ etc etc. So Tony Romo has alot more to deal with.

People must really think Romo is weak if all it takes is Simpson to distract him from the game. This is Romo living and he has worked hard to overcome to make it this far in the NFL. Simpson being at the game or not has nothing to do with anything. Dallas has won with her in attendance and have lost she had nothing to do with the win and nothing to do with the loss. Too bad some in the media can't get that through their fat heads.

I believe once he wins a Super Bowl, he will be a legend in this town.

Now, if he starts playing bad, presumably later in his career, I thinik they will boo him and clamor for a backup like they did Troy Aikman but I don't think Jessica Simpson will be blamed.

Let me ask you something. Say Tom Brady's play starts to tank, do you think the fans in New England would start to point the fingers at his girlfriend?

I am not sure they would. They would turn on him but I don't know that his girlfriend takes the heat.
