It reminds me of when I was preparing to take the LSAT for law school. I had a two week trip booked to visit my boyfriend in Italy about a month from test date. However the closer it got to the trip, the less comfortable I was with going in light of the upcoming LSAT.
I ended cancelling the trip because I decided the LSAT was too important to blow off studying for two weeks (and I knew no studying would get done in Italy). The risks of blowing my LSATs and not getting into law school wasn't worth the fun I would have in Italy.
That's the mindset I wish Romo would have. Is it too much to ask for him to focus when the Super Bowl is on the line?

Tony Romo is very familiar with the New York Giants, he has lit them up twice. He actually played in his first meaningful NFL game against them. Also, he went to Mexico on his days off. I don't know that studying any more film on the New York Giants would be that beneficial.
Now, if it were me, I would stay away from Mexico and chill with Jessica Simpson in Dallas or a location less visible.
Gangsta Spanksta;1888845 said:To me that is part of what Parcells was telling Romo, when he told him not to be a celebrity quarterback. Romo just didn't listen; there would be no problems if this vacation was after the season.
mickgreen58;1888837 said:I have to somewhat disagree with this.
I tuned into the Post Game Show on The Ticket after the Eagles game and alot of the fans were already blaming Jessica Simpson.
The media blitz hadn't even began and the fans were stating their displeasure with Jessica Simpson being at the game.
Like Iceberg said, they are always looking for a boogeyman. The fans are going to blame Jessica Simpson no matter what the media says.
Heck, I bet the situation is vice versa, where the media is being driven by the public at large.

We did things BP way what did that get us? Having a team who may be less uptight than we have had before may be that is just what the doctor ordered I guess we will see this weekend. Should Dallas win then the media can go to hell with there complaints.
Gangsta Spanksta;1888859 said:Well there were many fans that were already uncomfortable with Jessica being there because of Underwood last year. So she set herself kind of up for it.
For the last month, Romo hasn't played like he's familiar with much of anything. His playing as of late might be acceptable to you, but it sure hasn't been acceptable to me.mickgreen58;1888850 said:Personally, I think this a bad example.

If he had ended the season on an upswing then I might cut him some slack but. But quite honestly, I haven't been impressed for quite a while. The Romo who started this season is not the Romo of late.

Jessica Simpson to give Dallas Cowboys game a miss
Dallas Cowboys’ fans can breathe easy - Jessica Simpson is giving their vital Play Off game this weekend a miss.
The Texas songbird came under a barrage of criticism after she watched the team lose badly to the Philadelphia Eagles earlier this season.
Her current boyfriend, Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, had his worst game for the team as Simpson sat in the stands.
But her representatives have calmed fears that the singer would again jinx the high-flying Cowboys against the New York Giants.
“She is not attending. She’s working on a new album,” her publicist Cindy Berger said. “She will not be there, but she’ll be watching on TV and cheering Romo on.”

Maybe if Jessica goes to the game but sacrifices a chicken in the parking lot to ward off evil then can she go inside? :laugh2:

Realistically, I don't think it stops until Tony Romo wins big in the Playoffs and therefore prove that she wasn't a distraction .
Rockytop6;1889161 said:It won't stop then. This is what their jobs are all about. They appear to pattern their writing after the National Inquirer.
Romo has been criticised for wearing his cap backwards, for smiling, for scrambling and not staying in the pocket, for staying in the pocket and not scrambling, for dating, for losing, for winning but not with a large enough margin, etc., etc., The sports media, by and large, turn over every rock to find something they can magnify and stir the pot. If they can't find it, then they create it. Everybody needs to chill out and ignore them. Romo should also.
