Our slogan around Vinny was more like "Close your eyes and pray"

best thing about Vinny being signed to the jets is, in the unfortunate case that Bledsoe goes down, BP will not be able to bring Vinnie back, thus one of our younger QB's will have to play

GOOD! I don't want Drew to get hurt,,don't take that from my statement. But if we are going to see if we have a future QB on this roster, we need to play them at some point. Besides, with the way the O is being called this year, either one of the young guns could be successful.

Is that the fans desperation or the Jets' front office?

I feel sorry for Jets fans. I really thought that team would be good all around, maybe even go deep in the playoffs. There is nothing that hurts a team more than losing their starting QB, and they've lost two.

I'd rather have Vinnie than Romo. The fact that Tony's carrying the Babe Laufenberg seal of approval should make everyone nervous.

Maybe thats why BP wants to keep all of the games close. If we were blowing out an opponent, he might be forced to put in one of the backup QB's. He'd forfiet 1st !

This could be an exciting season for the Jets. I think there are enough games left for Vinny to set a NFL record.

Most Passes Had Intercepted, Career
277 George Blanda,
268 John Hadl
266 Fran Tarkenton
255 Vinny Testaverde

Would you rather see Vinny? Or Jeff George? (Who is still available, and his name has been brought up a few times on ESPN for going to workouts with certain teams)

I thought vinny done ok for us last year given the cirmustances. Yeah he threw a few interceptions, and yeah Parcells could of played Henson or Romo a little more in games that were already lost.

But, without Vinny at QB. We would of never gotten the chance to establish some key positions.

TE-Witten.
WR-Crayton
RB-Jones

IMO, these positions here would of suffered somewhat with rookie QB's. Who would of thought Crayton would of emerged as a clutch receiver. Vinny found this out during the washington game last year as did alot of us fans. Only two catches but both were HUGE and game deciding at that.

I wish Vinny the best with the Jets I really do. I think his season really got overshadowed last year with all of the injuries that plagued our receivers.

Got news for you, they didn't even have one starting caliber qb before the injuries. Pennington was all but finished after playing hurt last year. He played like crap before getting injured and has never played a full season anyway. Fiedler has been healthy only 1 of the last 6 years and hasn't gotten a team to the playoffs in almost as many and with their schedule, it wasn't likely they would have made the playoffs anyway. The only reason they made the playoffs last year was cause of Lamont Jordan, Kareem McKenzie and QC. Without those guys they were doomed from the beginning.

That's pretty much the same way I feel about Vinny. If it weren't for Purcells seemingly glaring need to have him on the field at all times, I really wouldn't mind having him as a backup. You gotta give Vinny some credit for the Seahawks comeback and sweeping the 'Skins.
