The Jets are going to try to keep this game close, then steal it at the end. They have a really good defense and can stop the run. The Cowboys will have to be patient on offense and not do what Josh Allen did.

But it is the Cowboys defense that will need to show they can stop the run especially on cutbacks and misdirection plays. I expect the Jets to go right at the Cowboys defense using double team blocks on the Cowboys DTs, especially when Hankins is out of the game. I don't think they are going to let Wilson throw the ball much, but if they get the running game going, I think they will use play action to go downfield to Garrett Wilson, who may be the best WR the Cowboys see this year.

I still am skeptical on just how good the cowboys run defense is

Last weeks game got out of control early a botched snap and blocked fg put things in right direction

Whether it was Barkley or Jones they were moving the ball till the snap put them behind the chains

I want to see it more clearly then I’ll believe . I do think we possess best pass rush and secondary in league

I also want to see this line block well against these beast up front for the jets

But what could go wrong? We got the Octo- plat from @GORICO
exactly

If we can't beat the jets with this qb taking snaps, we can not be considered any real contender. Cowboys 31, Jets 10.
Im currently at the airport having a drink waiting to fly to the game.

Go cowboys.

Cowboys interceptions were the talk of the 2022 season and all offseason. They led the league with 15 interceptions. Whether they were due to poor receiver play or bad decisions by the QB, those turnovers cost them all year. In Week 1, Cowboys avoided these big mistakes, even in the pouring rain, but the defense from the Jets is much better than the Giants.

The Jets used four Josh Allen turnovers — three interceptions, and a fumble — to upset Buffalo on Monday night. Their defense is fantastic and could take over the game if the Cowboys don’t protect the ball. It isn’t exciting, but a conservative game plan could be the best strategy for a Cowboys victory in Week 2.

This particular Dallas team has an elite defensive unit. Moving the ball on them will be incredibly difficult for a backup QB. They already shut out their first opponent and could similarly stymie the other New York team if the offense doesn’t give up short fields due to turnovers.

The special teams unit is really strong as well, not often giving teams a chance to return kicks and make big plays that way. Protecting the ball should be a priority every game, but particularly with a compromised opponent like the Jets are currently.

Turnovers are the ultimate equalizer in the NFL.
I thought we were going to lose because Jerry announced the injury report? LOL.....just messing around.

Josh Allen and the Bills were terrible last week. The Jets D is really good. The Jets O is anemic without Rodgers.

The Cowboys can play their game on D. They don' need to force Wilson to beat them. Mix up alignments, coverages and pressure the Jets like they did the Giants.

They can also test the Jets defense early and see if they can put some pressure on the Jets offense to play from behind. I think McCarthy goes after the Jets coverage with shots to favorable one on one match ups.

That's playing Not to Lose - rather than peddle to meddle way of playing to Win.

- Opposing defenses would love if you think conservatively like that - it makes their jobs much more easier.
Ball control, run & grind to keep opposing defense off field, only underneath dump passes.

- This also suggest Dak is gonna be Josh Allen 2.0 vs Jets, .. that Dak is gonna be Vikes Kirk Cousins,
a turnover mess just waiting to happen,.. Dak has to be kept and made to play very safe , dink and dunk-ball
for us to win.

- I could understand if that's your backup, much less physically limited, ala Cooper Rush.
But Dak is not physically limited. And he's went after defenses like
Bucs (ala playoffs) in '22, ..Eagles and Packers in '22.

- Dak could still have some rust remaining as he has not played preseason to iron out the wrinkles.
That's gonna come in time the more he plays.. ditto with all the key starters who also did not play preseason.

- I believe you can play big football, aggressive offensive football,.. without being a turnover machine.
I'd like to think it will be some different tweaks

It will be the Jet themselves playing the conservative dink and dunk game to safeguard Wilson and protect the
ball. Running the ball ala Dalvin Cook and Hall,. shorting down yardage, ..RB screens and swing passes, quick
misdirection plays, TE and WR underneath.

Jets simply do not want Zack Wilson in obvious 3rd and long situations .. that's death waiting and walking vs this pass rush.
They may still resort to RB screens in those situations.

Once Wilson is getting popped, sacked and hurrying forced throws - even short ones, he is gonna get rattled. he's gonna
turn the ball over, and he may get by in the 1st or even 2nd quarter, but eventually if Jets have to drop back pass to keep up in the game, or get back in the game .... Game over !!

Aside from the Vegas line for betters, I wouldn't see it as a major upset. It I ranked the units it would probably be Jets overall D, Dallas Pass D, Jets Running game, Dallas Passing game, Dallas run game, Dallas Run D, Jets passing game. I expect it to be a very tough game.

The Cowboys will beat the Jets by more than 10.

The Jets recipe for upsetting the Cowboys is to try and run the ball down their throat. They want to keep Zack Wilson upright, so I’m expecting a large dose of Breece Hall and Dalvin Cook. The Jets defense will be bent on stopping our running game and trying to force some turnovers.

The Jets need to get four Dallas turnovers to have a chance. I don’t see that happening

I agree it wouldn’t be a major upset, because the Jets just got through beating Buffalo who everyone had ranked ahead of the Cowboys entering the season. This should be a tough game unless Zach Wilson suffers a complete meltdown. The Cowboys have had issues against backup QBs. Sam Darnold, Mitch Trubisky, Colt McCoy and Matt Flynn just to name a few. Sam Howell did a number on our defense last season. The Jets have a solid defense that’s very opportunistic. I’m still not sold the Cowboys have fixed their run defense. Breece Hall, and Dalvin Cook are going to provide a real challenge.

I hope it doesn’t happen, but I could see us turning the football over against them if we’re forced to air it out. They’re going to be bent on stopping our running game.

Yea but I don’t think Dallas will have to air it out, Jets won put up much points.

With their defense bent on stopping our running game I do you think we’re going to have to put the ball up quite a bit. The Jets D kept the Bills under 100 yards rushing and forced Allen to put the ball up 41 times. The Jets have a very good defense and they can run the ball. They had 172 yards rushing last week. If we can’t contain their running game and get behind we could be in some real trouble. The only way this isn’t a tough game is if we’re able to contain their running game and Zach Wilson has a rough day.

Is this for Jets fans or Cowboys fans..? I'm confused
