With their defense bent on stopping our running game I do you think we’re going to have to put the ball up quite a bit. The Jets D kept the Bills under 100 yards rushing and forced Allen to put the ball up 41 times. The Jets have a very good defense and they can run the ball. They had 172 yards rushing last week. If we can’t contain their running game and get behind we could be in some real trouble. The only way this isn’t a tough game is if we’re able to contain their running game and Zach Wilson has a rough day.
We’ll see, if Dallas is what we think they are……this game won’t be a problem. Zach was thrown into the fire last Monday. He has now had a week to think about it and that might get into his head that it’s back on his shoulders.

The Cowboys are never what some fans think they are. One fan thinks they’re going 17-0 after the beat down they gave the Giants on opening day. Lol You obviously have them on a very high pedestal after only one game, but my advice is to allow the season to play out and let’s see where they’re at in December and January. They’ve started some seasons off very promising and at times looked special, only to fade later in the season. Unless Zach Wilson implodes I think this game will be a problem. He’s had a full week to prepare. I see the Cowboys winning if they show up ready to play and don’t turn the ball over, but I think it’s going to be a tough game. Even though the Jets are down about losing Aaron Rodgers, they’re feeling pretty pumped after their win over Buffalo. That was a very good football team they beat.

If we. can't trounce the Jets with a QB who has 16 TDs and 19 interceptions then we have bigger issues than anyone realizes.

Cowboys 38 Jets 13

The way the Giants gashed us on their opening drive, we may be seeing that all day against the Jets, if the Cowboys don’t tighten up against the run. They ran for 172 yards against Buffalo last week. Breece Hall and Dalvin Cook will put our run D to the test test.

This game is pretty simple. If we don't turn the ball over, we win. The ONLY scenario, the jets win is if they get multiple turnovers. I just can't see zach sustaining long drives. I can see either a nail biter or Dallas in a runaway because if we get up early, it's curtains. You can't protect zach all game.

I’m conditioned by past history to believe the Cowboys will make Z. Wilson look like Peyton Manning in his prime.

No pedestal from me. My outlook is the same as it has been in recent history…..around 12 wins with the playoffs TBD. I know what this team does, looks great one week yet can have a stinker soon after. This is not that week, the Jets led by Zach Wilson is a mere speed bump in the way. Buffalo played like crap and hurt themselves with turnovers.

It’s probably too early in the season for the Cowboys to lay an egg, but you never know what Cowboys team is going to show up week to week. Zach Wilson has had his issues, but I’m just hoping the team doesn’t take him for granted. I’ve seen Matt Flynn, Mitch Trubisky, Sam, Darnold, and Colt McCoy do a number on the Cowboys. We saw Sam Howell get the better of our defense last season. We just need to show up focused and ready to play on Sunday.

Cowboys interceptions were the talk of the 2022 season and all offseason. They led the league with 15 interceptions. Whether they were due to poor receiver play or bad decisions by the QB, those turnovers cost them all year. In Week 1, Cowboys avoided these big mistakes, even in the pouring rain, but the defense from the Jets is much better than the Giants.

The Jets used four Josh Allen turnovers — three interceptions, and a fumble — to upset Buffalo on Monday night. Their defense is fantastic and could take over the game if the Cowboys don’t protect the ball. It isn’t exciting, but a conservative game plan could be the best strategy for a Cowboys victory in Week 2.

This particular Dallas team has an elite defensive unit. Moving the ball on them will be incredibly difficult for a backup QB. They already shut out their first opponent and could similarly stymie the other New York team if the offense doesn’t give up short fields due to turnovers.

The special teams unit is really strong as well, not often giving teams a chance to return kicks and make big plays that way. Protecting the ball should be a priority every game, but particularly with a compromised opponent like the Jets are currently.

Turnovers are the ultimate equalizer in the NFL.

The Dallas Cowboys are favored to win against the New York Jets in NFL Week 2. The Cowboys are favored by 9.5 points, which is a wide margin by NFL standards. The game total is 39.5 points.
Some predictions for the game include:
Cowboys 20, Jets 10
Cowboys 24, Jets 13
Cowboys 16, Jets 13
Cowboys 14, Jets 10
Cowboys 20, Jets 0
Dallas 17, Jets 7
Cowboys 21, Jets 10

me
Cowboys 29, Jets 19

I think a more full proof ‘recipe’ would be free nachos in the cowboys locker room laced with X-Lax. That’s the only way I see us losing

Agreed.

I’d add that Wilson is going to throw his share to the Cowboys defenders. They need to hang on to those instead of stomping around afterward lamenting the lost opportunity.

I see this as a game of mistakes with the winner being the one who makes less.

Normally I’d have more confidence, but this Jet defense is fast and good. Really good actually and the swagger is going to be high minus the QB.

We may need a short field or two from our own defense. The 9.5 line is ridiculous.

If we can some how get a two TD lead early, it becomes a very different game, but that can’t be expected.
That's pretty much how I see it too. That D pretty much shut down the Bills, yet it took 4 turnovers and a punt return to win. The Cowboys just have to not crap all over themselves.

As far as the spread goes, Vegas don't care. They just don't want everyone betting Cowboys. But for gamblers, the difference between 9.5 and 10 is huge.

Yep…only way Cowboys lose this one is if the Jets can score enough points to make Dak do something stupid.

He’s quite capable of doing something stupid, but Mike Mc won’t call that sort of game unless points are needed. If it’s close or Cowboys are winning big (likely), Dak won’t be a factor

The Jets are going to try to keep this game close, then steal it at the end. They have a really good defense and can stop the run. The Cowboys will have to be patient on offense and not do what Josh Allen did.

But it is the Cowboys defense that will need to show they can stop the run especially on cutbacks and misdirection plays. I expect the Jets to go right at the Cowboys defense using double team blocks on the Cowboys DTs, especially when Hankins is out of the game. I don't think they are going to let Wilson throw the ball much, but if they get the running game going, I think they will use play action to go downfield to Garrett Wilson, who may be the best WR the Cowboys see this year.
That's what I'm afraid of. If the Cowboys are forced to stack the box, that gives the Jets a shot to go downfield. The Eagles live off that.

I still am skeptical on just how good the cowboys run defense is

Last weeks game got out of control early a botched snap and blocked fg put things in right direction

Whether it was Barkley or Jones they were moving the ball till the snap put them behind the chains

I want to see it more clearly then I’ll believe . I do think we possess best pass rush and secondary in league

I also want to see this line block well against these beast up front for the jets

But what could go wrong? We got the Octo- plat from @GORICO
I have to admit I too still have a question about our run defense. The Jets are going to test that run defense on Sunday, and
I'm really anxious to see McCarthy's "Texas Coast" offense in action.
Go Cowboys!
