Well..

First off..he had to can Dan Marino..a lesson in failure.

Marino down there is like Aikman or Staubach for us.

Jimster started off on the wrong foot with Dolphin fans.

From there,he got rid of Jason Taylor..a HOF DE.

I could go on.

Leave it to know Jimster's. Aura faded quite a bit and he went to FOX.

The very fact he was eligible to get on the list for induction to the HoF..

..but didn't get the votes..

should speak volumes about how he is viewed.

You dont even know what the hell you are talking about kiddo. Taylor was there long after Jimmy (WHO DRAFTED HIM). Marino and Johnson left the Dolphins at the same time.

Didn't jimmy draft taylor and zach Thomas in his first draft in Miami? If so, Taylor played awhile in Miami. We'll after jimmy had left,

Btw, Taylor and Thomas would have looked good as replacements in Dallas for an aging defense.

Don't get what you are trying to get at with the Marino statement so I won't respond to that.

I wonder how many coaches have made it to the HOF with around 10 years of being a head coach. I would guess not many. What he did was remarkable in Dallas and getting more remarkable by the year seeing who he had to deal with in Dallas.

The fact that Jimmy is even considered for the HOF with the little time he had as a n NFL coach speaks volumes about how he is viewed.

Wrong Kiddo

He left the Dolphins and later came back and finished his career.

But thanx for your revisionist version of events.

Kiddo.

Hopefully when a situation like the Green Bay game comes up again, one of these coaches will mention that it might be a good idea to take off the pass option. And hopefully all the coaches will be on speaking terms at that time.

LOL!!!!

From Wikipedia:

First stint with Dolphins
Taylor was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the third Round (73rd pick overall) of the 1997 NFL Draft. Taylor signed a four-year deal worth approximately $1.3 million in July 1997. From there he established himself as one of the premier defensive ends in the league. He became a starter in his rookie season and recorded five sacks and forced two fumbles.
The following season, 1998, Taylor recorded nine sacks and the 6'6" Taylor batted away eight passes. In 1999 Taylor grabbed the first of his eight career NFL
interceptions.[4]
2000–2003
On April 15, 2000, Taylor, a restricted free agent, received a one-year tender that earned him $1.027 million in 2000. Taylor responded with 73-tackles, 14.5-sacks, and 6-passes batted for the Dolphins that season. His performance was rewarded with his first selection to the Pro Bowl.
A year later, on July 24, 2001, he signed a six-year, $42 million contract to remain with the Dolphins. The new contract replaced the one-year, $5.39 million deal the Dolphins tendered Taylor in February, 2001, when he was designated their franchise player. In 2001 Taylor recorded 71 tackles (seven for a loss), 8.5 sacks and swatted away eight passes.
In 2002 Taylor led the NFL and tied the Dolphin team record for sacks with 18.5. He also forced seven fumbles and knocked down eight more passes to go with his 69 tackles. He was a consensus
All-Pro selection and returned to the Pro Bowl. The next season (2003) Taylor followed up his All-Pro performances with a 13-sack season.

Taylor Left in 2007, long after Jimmy was gone (who drafted him). Jimmy retired in 1999, Marino retired after Jimmy Johnson left the same year.

And yes, Jason Taylor and Zach Thomas would have been great replacements in that aging Dallas defense . . . . .

Don't put former Cowboys coach Jimmy Johnson down as a fan of the Cowboys' expected decision to add Scott Linehan as passing game coordinator and play caller.

Johnson said Linehan's history as a pass happy play caller does nothing to help a Cowboys team that already has a problem with a lack of commitment to the run. The Cowboys finished 31st in the league in rushing attempts last season one year after setting a team record for fewest attempts in a season.

"The only thing that concerns me is Linehan is not known for being a guy that’s going to run the football," Johnson said at Super Bowl media day Tuesday. "That’s kind of been a little bit of a problem with the Cowboys in the past that they’ve got a great running back in DeMarco Murray and, I mean, I don’t know. Are they going to run the ball more or less? Who can tell? We’ll only know a year from now. But it does concern you a little bit."

According to the Garrett Band.....Running the football and discussing the offense is pointless, don't you know we are 4th in net points per drive?

Jimmy Johnson, that guy on FOX? What does he know.

Jimster is never coming back to Dallas.

Those who live in the past are doomed to repeat the same mistakes.

Better days are ahead.

So you've been saying this for going on 20 years

As for your reasoning for why Jimmy isn't HOF...does that apply to a Drew Pearson too?

You enjoy embarrassing yourself to lay on the sword of .500 JG

We pretty much agree I think.

But that's not important to me whether you or I am exactly right..

.I would have loved for Taylor and Zack Thomas to have come later in their careers.

But we were playing that cursed 3-4 defense for which we could never draft enough hybrid players to make it work.
