Especially when your sorry defense can't stop anyone.

Just think the team leads by 10 with 11 minutes to go in 4th quarter. The offense would score 10 more points and lose. The Lions put up more yards against this defense, by 40 yards, than any defense in the history of the Cowboys. This defense has already allowed 4/400 yard passing games in 8 games...

and...this head coach wants to give the ball back to Detroit? It's mind bogglingly stupid..

I totally agree.

Hey, maybe you haven't noticed.. but our team has AVERAGED .500 for 18 YEARS. I'm tired of that and have a right to complain. I would "settle" for playing above .500 for STARTERS and then IMPROVE. Not have a blip season where we play above .500 and then choke away the playoffs and go right back down to .500 or less. That is not success.

It has nothing to do with me "trashing" the team, it has everything to do with the Cowboys putting a .500 product on the field every year and fans being sick of it.

And lol @ playoff success. Beating a pathetic Eagles team and then getting annihilated against a real team the week after is what you call playoff success in 18 FREAKING YEARS? I'm going to put you on ignore now (meaning I will never see your posts again). No offense man, you and I just don't see eye to eye and I want to save us both a lot of time.

Good post.

That Eagles team was 11-5 and would have had the No. 2 seed in the entire conference if they hadn't lost in the season finale. Scored the 5th most points in the NFL that year. I wouldn't call them "pathetic."

I would rather be aggressive and lose than be passive and lose. Throw out the "book". It is only cover for the Head Coach against the media. Conventional thinking leads to soft, prevent defense and off tackle runs for no gain. If Dallas had went No Huddle on either of the last 2 possessions, DET would have probably panicked and burned a TO. Spread the field. You can still run the ball for no gain, but if they blow the coverage or don't have the right personnel, you can make a big play and WIN the game instead of trying not to lose.

You know, the more I think about this, the more it makes sense. Have 4 WRs and one running back. Let the QB decide what to do on the play.

If the Lions were showing run defense, then throw the ball. Potentially get a first down.

If the Lions were showing pass defense, then the QB can hold on to the ball and decide to kneel, take a sack, pitch it to a running back for some yardage, or just run himself. That would drain the clock.

Hey great cop out post. First you said you would settle for more than A .500 season and SOME playoff success. Then you change it to consistent .500 seasons with playoff success AND signs of improvement.

And just like I said you would in the previous post getting a first round bye one year and beating a team in the playoffs and making it to the second round another year, in your eyes is not playoff success and is only "A blip" of a season even though it was 2 different Seasons that we made it to the playoffs.

And finally the old "I'm going to put you on ignore". Just like a little kid who runs home and screams "i'm taking my ball and I'm going home".

Putting someone on ignore because you disagree with their opinion is exactly the perfect example of how pathetic Some fans truly act.

Hey just admit it, because it's obvious to see, you have an agenda. That agenda is to not engage in good conversation or debate. It's too wine and fuss and cry kick and scream and yell because you're not getting what you want. And then when you have no other recourse, so you just bow out of the conversation & put me on ignore so you don't have to deal with it.

Thank you for showing me and everyone else here that your mentality on our situation as a team is exactly like I thought.

He learns a little each year.. he is learning on the job. We will win the division and JJ will see that as improvement and keep JG next year.

Jason needs to rewatch the 2 Superbowl wins over the bills and how JIMMY JOHNSON conducted himself and even the playoff games to get to the Superbowl . Learn from the master(JIMMY JOHNSON) Jason and you will come out a monster. Maybe like Jason in Friday the 13th movies and destroy every team in your path to the Superbowl.

Nope, tired of all the over-thinking. In this case, spread the field, snap the ball, throw for a first down, run out the clock. Simple, really. We're talking about a single first down in the middle of the field.
