Dammmm, time now to dust off my VHS tapes and look for a tape player at some swap meet or antique shop.

HOW 'BOUT DEM COWBOYS!!!!:flagwave:
If you can’t find your VHS tapes I would check eBay. I’ve found a lot of games people have converted to DVD and sold for fairly cheap. Technically they can’t sell the game due to copyright infringement but they’ll get past it by saying they will sell you a football card “of seller’s choice” and with that card comes a free copy of whatever game you search for. Back in the day before YouTube took off I got a lot of games like that. I always feel more nostalgia when there’s commercials in them. The world has changed a lot since the early 90’s and the commercials are kind of funny.

Watch the latest episode of Hangin’ With the Boys. Nate Newton lets us in on why things really fell apart between Jimmy and Jerry. Nate says the two of them were a team, thick as thieves, together all the time, talking about everything. When they won, Jerry just wanted a little piece, but Jimmy wanted it all, according to Nate, who loves Jimmy. Jimmy always said repeatedly that a coach should never stay anywhere more than 5 years. Jimmy gave up everything. That’s why the Ring of Honor means so much to him. His marriage failed. He was estranged from his own parents and his kids. If they came to town, he told his parents he’d see them after the game. If his kids came to see him, sorry, got to work. See you later. He was miserable because he had nothing else at the time. Since getting out of coaching, losing his parents, he is now close with his kids and cherishes sharing his success and legacy with them because now he sees the importance of family and wants them to share in what he sacrificed so much to achieve.

As Nate says, you can both admire him for his accomplishments in football while also recognizing his human errors in placing it above everyone in his life.

Jimmy and Jerry had a falling out, but Jerry gave Jimmy what he wanted when it started and when it ended. They had a great friendship and bond, and they still do.

Just think Jimmy was the last coach who had any sort of control over this team. Some will argue Parcells but Bill left because he couldn't take Jerry's micromanagement.

I LOVED after beating the 49ers in the NFC Championship how he praised the team and ended that with, "And you understand, we do have one game left to play!" And everyone cheered. Beating the 9ers in the NFCC meant even more to me than beating the Bills in the Super Bowl. Losing the NFCC in '81 to them kicked my guts out, and I felt it for years.

You can breathe easy, now that you know.
Lol. For real bro. I have wondered who that was about since I first heard about it in the 90’s. I was actually relieved and felt satisfaction knowing the origins.

See this is why I come to this site every day. For the community and those little nagging mysteries get solved.

No worries and actually I wasn't taking a shot at you, I was making a subtle asthma joke since you were asking who it was that Jimmy sent to the asthma field......

Happy New Year brother. Go Cowboys

i don't know i think that parcells got along with the jones but just finally had enough. that last season you could tell he was not getting upset anymore when things went wrong. he did not let owens bother him like some star players who could not handle would have earlier in his career. also after the wildcard loss he just looked done. parcell never coached again. i just wished johnson could have coached the cowboys longer because he had enough talent to win at least another three years before the cap ruined the cowboys then i would not have blamed johnson for leaving.

No....I mean it.
Ok. Fair enough . Then the counter argument to that thought is that Jimmy took over an awful team and basically restructured the roster from top to bottom

Does he not deserve a ton of credit for that as well?

This season started out feeling different like it could be a very special season. It was reminiscent of the special years Jimmy coached the team. We knew we had something special. However, recent struggles have soured that feeling, and now most fans seem to be resolute that the team will start the playoffs on the road and probably one and done. Losing to the Lions on the same night Jimmy is finally added to the Ring of Honor, is not something I want to see. So please, win this one for Jimmy.
