Anybody think Garrett or fat Garrett would talk/about Zeke like that?

And Jimmy told us his real thoughts on fat garrett at the 8:50 mark. He's trash that was carried by Rodgers. Jimmy tried to clean it up but that pause said it all.

watched that , good talk with jimmy.
he basically said Dallas isnt going to get any of the qb's that are better than dak, so might as well sign dak lol.
and that does not include drafting a qb, which wasnt discussed. bunch of other good talk in this too though.

Listening to Jimmy just makes me think, oh what might have been, if not for the hostile work environment created by Jerry our playoff history would be quite different. A smart discipline coach with control is the way to go.

Thanks Jimmy

Coach only mentioned 2 QBs (Rodgers and Mahomes) that he felt are better than Dak, all while saying Dak is an excellent QB who is plenty of good enough to lead the Cowboys to a championship.

Just wanted to help you make that clear, DD52. ;):D

Jerry Jones can't recognize a capable coach if one of them bit him on his behind.

Hopefully, he'll be far more inclined to depend upon his advisors in the future. o_O

I, most likely, won't be overly surprised if Big Mike is on the hot seat quite shortly,

Jimmy was a great head coach with the Cowboys, no doubt. Jerry and Jimmy were a great team then things soured on both sides. Jimmy is like Parcells. Neither were inclined to stick with any organization career long. After not reaching his goals with the Dolphins both as a head coach and GM Jimmy quit coaching all-together.

So even if Jimmy and Jerry remained best of buddies whose to say he would have hung around anyway for many more years. Jimmy's longest tenure has been as a football analyst at Fox NFL Sunday and the pandemic was a good reason for him not to travel to the studio anymore as the rest of his cohorts. Jimmy always beat to his own drum and there is nothing wrong with that.

Even a blind person knows neither Wodgers nor Mahomes would do squat w/this team. Besides, cry baby Wodgers chokes too much in big games anyway.

That's why he only has one championship for 16 years of playing. Funny, the haters conveniently oversee those stats.

When Aikman retired, it was put to Jimmy what his thoughts were on Aikman. He stated Troy could have posted Marino numbers, but that was not the game plan in Dallas. They got ahead with the pass early, controlled the clock with the run, and used a stellar defense that would bend but not break.

But Jimmy was clear about Aikman's skills set and how troy could be turned loose and post mad numbers.

Now extrapolate that to Dak. We have seem him post very impressive numbers in a season. Like ALL QUARTERBACKS, he misses an open receiver occasionally, or throws an errant pass. But he cam move the team.

What Dak needs is a team, like Aikman had where he has a stud RB, good receivers, and a DEFENSE that is top five.

He has most of that. Not the defense. The ridiculous position of the Dak complainers always ignore facts when discussing this guy.

Was there another interview you didn't post? Sounds like you're embellishing to fit a narrative with what you posted.

Aikman and Dak shouldnt be compared.

So that is what you think I was doing?

I am talking about creating a game plan that features the same goals as the Jimmy era offense. Which would limit Dak's yardage, but control the clock. And one of the most important criteria is a top five defense. Dak has the skills to win. And as Tom Landry said, stay close to the top, meaning the NFC Championship game, and pop through every few years.

You are essentially down to one game at that point.

I am not comparing them. I am stating Aikman could have posted Dak numbers if the offe3nse was wide open and did not have a set plan for controlling the ball and clock.

Watch it again: the QB names mentioned were Rodgers and Stafford and JJ said BOTH were better than Dak and he would take EITHER over Dak.

Basically...

Jimmy would take Rodgers & Stafford over Dak

Jimmy talked about the triplets however he emphasized defense was key as they posted the number one defense

Jimmy thinks no quarteback would win with the Cowboys defense

He's not sold on MM at all.

Agree on all fronts.
