JJ and Wade post game comments

Saw them both I hope WP emphasizes stopping the run for next week.

Curious if goober offered up excuses for his lousy defense.

Recap?

"Golly shucks......did they have a 100 yard rusher.........Why I say we did pretty well.......we will continue to work on it............golly shucks. My daddy said if it aint broke don't fix it......I think we did ok."

RECAP:

Wade Phillips: I love that new stajium of ours. I love that new vijio board! Jerry, instead of players dumping gatorade on me after a made field goal, I'd like them to dump buttermilk on me.

He actually went out his way to credit the O and ST play. He didn't really praise the D but he did mention a few good things they did. It should be a message to the players that they need to get it in gear.

He should have said "Our D pretty much stood around while Tampa Bay ate their Lunch then asked for desert."

Did anyone question him on why we played such soft coverages the ENTIRE game?

All I heard is that the Defense was going to be fixed because Wade Phillips would have the entire year to coach them and Brian Stewart would be gone.

The main reason Wade Phillips was hired was to fix the defense and he still hasn't done it yet.

What shocked me more than anything was the horrible run defense.

I'm tired of seeing Ken Hamlin getting run over by Running Backs.

Agree 100%. There was only 1 reason to keep Wade after last yrs debacle the last two games, and that was because you thought he'd coach a very solid, if not dominating defense. The defense just played one of the worst games I've seen in quite some time today. We gave up 21 pts, 26 first downs and 450 yds, and it EASILY could have been alot worse.

Ken Hamlin is the worst starting safety in football. The only debate is whether he is worse vs the run or pass. He seems to be equally lousy vs both.

Great interview with Roy Williams... The guy definitely has the right attitude! Trade TJ Housh for him straight up (in fantasy), so I have confidence in him!

Nope, Roy Williams is.

this was just one game...if this trend continues then their is cause for concern. Next week will be a good test.

So, you'd rather have had Sabby Piscotelli?

Why would he praise the special teams? Apart from Beuhler they were hideous.
