Depends upon who provides input and trust there. Standards and accountability. Not on techniques to succeed and when used. That is on the actual field managements. Three consecutive 12 win seasons does provide credability. No German hidden and underground structures and fighting clandestine 'advantages' in football. All is on film to be seen.
I understand your viewpoint but there will be no credibility for any hc here until they win a div playoff game.

No, that is yours and a personal value ...not my base value. This is still a NFL business. You nor anyone else doesn't my laws. Your respecting that value is your thingie, but doesn't bind me. Insult or not...

This is the issue today.

Brock Hoffman filled in for Martin last week and was actually decent and had a good game. On the other side, Chuma Edoga took over at left tackle and allowed only two pressures all day. Both may have to play again because of injuries this week and battle the Bengals’ pass rush. In a crazy statistic, Cincinnati’s best pass rusher, Trey Hendrickson, leads the NFL in sacks. But Cincinnati ranks 30th in total sacks on defense. As for this offensive line finding a rhythm in the ground game, Cincinnati have allowed the fifth-most rushing touchdowns.

The Bengals offensive line is once again in trouble. In the last three games they have allowed the fourth-most sacks and this season they have allowed the sixth-most pressures. The Bengals offensive line has lost pieces throughout the season to injury, but you have to imagine how far Burrow could go if he had the protection in front of him. As for run blocking, this Bengals line maybe one of the worst in the league. It lacks physicality, aggression and efficiency, this is a huge reason why Burrow has to take over games so often.
Win: Cowboys

He is 82 years old. It’s too old to be in charge of anything.

No offense to any 82 year olds who may post here.

Ok above good below great owner, does that work better for you?
Nope. A good or great owner NEVER keeps a horrible GM.

Anything he ever did good as an owner has been completely erased by his stubbornness and unwillingness to relinquish his horrible GM abilities and let a real football person take over.

Until this Dallas Cowboys problem is solved all other plans are second rate discussions.

Asking someone that is incapable to win something against others who are capable is a losing strategy.

Fixing the team or getting new coaches even a new shiny young QB won't change much with Jerry.

It will sell but it ends there.

I started comparing NFL GMs and their ages last year.
Below is a list of the 31 General Managers in the NFL who are also NOT NFL owners. Also included in the list is their age and how many years they have been in that current job as GM.
  • Arizona Cardinals | Monti Ossenfort, age 47 been GM in Ari 2 years.(Previously GM at Tenn 4 years)
  • Atlanta Falcons | Terry Fontenot, age 44, been GM in Atl since 2021.
  • Baltimore Ravens | Eric DeCosta, age 53, been GM in Balt since 2019.
  • Buffalo Bills | Brandon Beane, age 48 been GM in Buff since 2017.
  • Carolina Panthers | Dan Morgan, age 46 in his 2nd year.
  • Chicago Bears | Ryan Poles, age 39, been GM in Chicago since 2022.
  • Cincinnati Bengals | Duke Tobin, age 53, (technically he’s the “Director of Player Personnel” but serves as de facto GM for owner Mike Brown) He’s in his 24th year as bengals executive
  • Cleveland Browns | Andrew Berry, age 37, been GM in Cleveland since 2020
  • Denver Broncos | George Paton, age 54, been GM in Denver since 2021
  • Detroit Lions | Brad Holmes, age 45, been GM in Detroit since 2021
  • Green Bay Packers | Brian Gutekunst, age 51, been GM in GB since 2018
  • Houston Texans | Nick Caserio, age 48, been GM in Houston since 2021
  • Indianapolis Colts | Chris Ballard, age 55, been GM in Indy since 2017
  • Jacksonville Jaguars | Trent Baalke, age 61, been GM in Jax since 2021.
  • Kansas City Chiefs | Brett Veach, age 47, been GM in Kansas City since 2017.
  • Las Vegas Raiders | Tom Telesco, age 52, his 2nd year as GM in Vegas (was chargers GM from 2013-23)
  • Los Angeles Chargers | Joe Hortiz, age 49, in hist 2nd year as GM of chargers.
  • Los Angeles Rams | Les Snead, age 54, been rams GM since 2012
  • Minnesota Vikings | Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, age 43, GM in Minn since 2021
  • Miami Dolphins | Chris Grier, age 54, been GM in Miami since 2016.
  • New England Patriots | Elliott Wolf, age 42, in his first year as Pats GM
  • New Orleans Saints | Mickey Loomis, age 55, been NO GM since 2013
  • New York Giants | Joe Schoen, age 44, been Giants GM since 2022
  • New York Jets- VACANT- fired Joe Douglas, age 47, who had been jets GM since 2019
  • Pittsburgh Steelers | Omar Khan, age 48, been Steelers GM since 2022
  • Philadelphia Eagles | Howie Roseman, age 49, been Philly GM since 2019
  • San Francisco 49ers | John Lynch, age 53, been GM in SF since 2017
  • Seattle Seahawks | John Schneider, age 53, been GM in Seattle since 2010
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers | Jason Licht, age 54, been GM in Tampa since 2014
  • Tennessee Titans | Ran Carthon, age 43, in his 2nd year as GM at Tenn
  • Washington Commanders | Adam Peters, age 44, in his 2nd year as GM in Wash
NFL GMs who are also owners:
  • Jerry Jones, age 82, is now the oldest GM in NFL history, has been GM of the Cowboys 36 years.
  • Stephen Jones is 60 (So SJ would be the second oldest GM in the league if he takes over, lol)
Average age of an NFL GM (without Jerry in count): 47.5
Oldest GM in league besides Jerry: Trent Baalke, Jacksonville GM, age 61.
Average length of tenure of NFL GMs other than Jerry: 8 years

Tom Landry was fired at 64 because the game had passed him. Tex Schramm was replaced by Jerry as GM in 1989 when Schramm was 68.
I know a lot fans think Stephen is really pulling most of the GM strings these days but he will be 61 in June.

It is very clear that being an NFL GM is now a young man’s game. Except in Dallas.

Jerry and his two dim whit sons are deal with the Dunning–Kruger effect, which is a cognitive bias in which people with limited competence in a particular domain overestimate their abilities. Look it up, it's the Jones to a T! Until this organization is ran by a different owner don't expect anything to change.

Just another clear sign that Jerry needs to step down.

Actually everything good he's done is still on plaques and record books. Sorry can't take that away from him

It has never been a Jerry Jones' game, at any age. He won because of Jimmy Johnson, period. He made a great decision in 1989, almost everything since has been slop.

The Super Bowl they won under Switzer was with a greatly diminished team. He wasted the back of half of the Triplets' careers, wasted a host of good players since, because he had no idea how to hire a coach, had no idea how to construct a roster, rejected the idea that his coach had to run the lockerroom and be the face of the team. And his enormous ego means he'll never be able to address any of those issues, it will only be left to someone else when the old fool is beyond keeping up the pretense of running the show when his mind is totally shot. Sucks for Cowboy fans, especially young ones who've never seen a real winner. We can argue Dak or Fat Mike or whoever, but they're just discussion topics, no more the real reason for failure than those of us talking about it on a message board.

You don't think Jerry can handle the GM job well to stick it in the fan's eyes he's about to take the field and baby watch out, Superbowl here we come!!!

You could say this is jerry doing his gm job, only jerry would never work that hard.

yeah but he wont quit until he cant talk anymore.
I can visualize him sitting in wheelchair with slobber coming out of his mouth, and being interviewed, and forgetting the questions,
and maybe where he is.

One point of contention, Bob. Jimmy was the GM from 1989 to 1993 when Jerry fired him. It was even legally written into his contract as such. I've linked it many times, so just google it and save me the time.
