I've never had a lot of respect for guys who get "liquid courage" or talk smack when they know there aren't going to be any repurcussions. (JJT is doing that right now.)

Having said that, I'm not a huge fan of the reporters who fawn over BP and would never criticize the guy. It's the players fault, it's TO's fault, it's Jerry's fault, etc., etc. That gets old as well.

I'm glad he's gone, but that doesn't mean I'm not grateful for some of the things he's done. There's no need to trash him or deify him.

Give it a rest, homer. He's only echoing what 99% of others have been saying. Bill was a failure in Dallas. That's hardly a controversial or inaccurate statement. Deal with it. Demonizing the messenger is cowardice defined.

I feel to say that BP was a failure with such conviction is a pretty narrow minded way of veiwing success. Sure we didn't win a Super Bowl or yes even a playoff game, but we made it to the playoffs 2 out of four years after 3 straight 5-11 seasons. He was brought in to rebuild this franchise and he did that. I feel we are in a great position for the future and that has a lot to do with BP. I do agree that it was probably time for a change, but at the same time I appreciate what BP did for this franchise over the last 4 years.
JJT should stop his personal attacks.

Well, there's one good way to remedy that: Bill should conduct a farewell press conference and stare down his "mean, unfair" accusers. Oh, wait. He's too much of a coward. Shucks.

When you treat people with contempt, be it your staff, players, or the press, don't be surprised when you receive it threefold. Bill's been an incorrigible bully for a long, long time. Payback is a beyotch.

I don't think Parcells cares one way or another what JJT says. And nobody said it was "mean" or "unfair." But it is unprofessional. I mean, JJT comes across as mature as a sixth-grader.

I have no problem with what anyone says about someone like Parcells after they're gone. Maybe their true thoughts can come out.

I believe that a Dallas beat writer couldn't write what they really thought about Parcells while he was still in power. Say what you will but Parcells is a petty man himself and he controlled access so in a sense he had de facto control over whether a writer could earn a livelihood.

It's easy to tell when a reporter allows personal stuff to affect what he writes about someone. And with JJT, it's obvious. Parcells probably made him look like a fool during a press conference, and JJT wants to get back at him every chance he gets.

I agree with almost everything here. Just that I don't think BP made JJT look like a fool... JJT looked like a fool cuz he is a fool.

I remember JJT on Norm's show right after Parcells was hired, Norm asked him if he was worried that Parcells restricted access to the media was going to hurt his job.
