JJT On Sporting News Radio Today Said It Will Be Norv...

I mean look at what Pittsburgh did?

Did they hire a skilled "3-4" guy?

No, they hired a guy that had spent years working with a "4-3, Cover-2" defense.

The head coach should be an administrator first and foremost.

X's & O's?

That's what the coordinators are for.

Hey I hear you man. :) This is all idle speculation that has everyone worked into a tizzy. I'm just enjoying the ice cream social. ;)

We know JJT reads here... Maybe he just said this to yank our chains and get a good laugh out of the reactions.

Yeah... That's what it is. :pray2:

Wade? That you sir? How did that interview with Jerrah go again? Good?

The interview went good, however, I told JJ that if that spoiled brat T.O. is going to still be on the team, then he could stick this job where the Sun don't shine...

I'll see if he calls me back...

Thanks for asking...

I suppose we won't be hiring you then since you're already sticking your nose where it doesn't belong. If we were to hire you it would have been to shore up our defense. You talking about offense is about as funny as listening to Parcells talk about how his coordinators ran the show. :lmao2: You worry about the defense and let Garrett worry about the offense. Capish?

I'm not exactly excited about Norv Turner as the HC...

BUT...what I will say is, until we see who the DC is, I'm not gonna lose my mind.

Here's what I think people are missing...

The questions is, which coaching staff is better??? Bill Parcells as Head Coach...Bill Parcells as OC... and Bill Parcells as DC (because if you think this team for the past four years was anything other than that, you're kidding yourself) OR...Norv Turner as HC, Garrett as OC...and Wade Phillips (for example) as DC?

That's the question.

This isn't a direct Parcells vs Turner comparison.

oh oh oh...call on me. My hand is raised high. I can answer that one!

Amen.

Except payton and sporano are very good coaches. And you are giving them no credit..

WHen it comes to parcells and turner there is no comparison.

Wade Phillips would never come here as a DC. That would be like a demotion, he has a better chance of staying in san diego keeping them elite winnnig some playoff games or super bowl and then getting more offers with some say in personnel I would imagine if he wants that.

Yeah thats precisely the problem we face.

Wade and Norv are NOT administrators.. they're coordinators.

So if we make one of the them the HC we're weak there and then weak at coordinators too cause we'll have unproven ones.

In a perfect world the Wades and Norvs would happen to be available right now as coordinators. But they're not.

Juke,
I would feel better about Norv if Wade was at least the DC, because he is very good at that job. But I've read nothing to make me believe he would leave the Chargers, or the Chargers would even allow him to leave, for a DC job in Dallas. That isn't happening.

No thanks, Sir...I have already grown up my own children...I don't have time to baby sit another brat like T.O.!

Anyway, I believe Mr. Jones is going to hire Mr. Turner so that he can shove T.O. down his throat wheater he likes it or not...they're good buddies you know?

Yes. Parcells was a head coach. We're back to the coordinators as head coaches and administrators scene. I've seen this movie before.

I disagee on that post because quite frankly we don't know.

Circumstances are always changing... see "Mumbles" in New England. I guarantee you that after his time in Cleveland there wasn't a fan on the planet that considered him to be head coaching material.

for this team to be legit, they have to fix that OL first and foremost. thats not going to happen with a defensive minded coach.

the oline will be better next year. flo will start the season healthy. rivera will be replaced. everybody else is young and will be better in their second season together. it won't take much for that unit to be above average and then romo will make them even better with his mobility.

I don't care how good they were.

Head coaches typically do not get involved in "X's & O's".

Get some popcorn... this is a double feature much to your chagrin. ;)
