Well, well, well, it seems that even the mediots have come to the reality that Jerry isnt a lone ranger when it comes to the draft.

I find it interesting that these same mediots give Red credit for his drafting prowess, and keeping Jerry from himself, yet at the same time crow about how Jerry will screw the draft up if he makes a trade.

Even the idiot JJT acknowledges the HC's role on draft day at VR.

Jerry is just saying that and Red is really just his puppet.

The one thing I like about Garrett is the drafting.

I think he has a really good feel for it. Knock on wood.

We don't have one.

We have one that "listens" to whomever shouts the most because he lacks the ability to truly do the job.

That is special.

Hmmm. Jj said today that the scouts rule the day but jg as input. I really don't care as long as they get it right.

Is this a good thing? Shouldn't the GM be handling the draft?

Many GM's around the league let there coaches shop for the groceries. But you want nothing else to take a shot at Jerry.

Right or wrong?

Now if he could just learn how to coach we would have Jimmy 2.0. :p:

I've come to the conclusion that Jerry gives his coaches what they want. The drafts show that and the weaker coaches allow him to make his bonehead moves. And I think Garrett is on the better side at least talent eval wise

I was convinced that Garrett was in control of the draft now; however, if JJT says it, then I'll have to reconsider my opinion because JJT is the dumbest (you fill in the blank) in history.

I'm pretty sure what you'd want to hear is that the scouts' opinions (meaning the draftboard) carry the most weight and that the GM listens to the HC's input. A GM is not out there scouting every player in detail, nor is he coaching them. He needs to take the available information from the appropriate sources and make a prudent decision. I believe that the past couple of drafts have been better and having a head coach who is not soft and has a vision is the reason why. Where Dallas has gotten into trouble is when they have had softer head coaches who don't keep Jerry in check or have a clear vision/direction for the team. Smith, Carter, Murray, Harris, Claiborne, Crawford and Hanna (Johnson, Wilber and/or Coale may still prove to be good picks but were injured) are a good haul over the past two years. I think we have a very good chance of getting 3 (possibly 4) players who contribute heavily from the 2013 class. I'm cautiously optimistic that we will have a very good draft even with the "worst GM in the history of the universe" Jerry Jones.

And the best GMs were, at one time, scouts. They have the intellectual ability to overrule, or agree, based on their own competence. We do not have that.

I just picture the DC war room.
By the time Goodell is finished with his opening draft speech, JJ is nodding off to sleep with a dull snore, drooling on coat sleeve. Stephan Jones lightly nudges his father and there is no responce so he smiles and immediately turns to JG and whispers, "OK looks like daddy's asleep so I'm going to the strip bar down the street for a scotch and water. Just call me if daddy wakes up. If I'm not back by 17th pick, just look on the moniter and pick whoever Kyper says we're going to take. Got it?".
JG swallows hard and says, "OK, but please don't leave me here alone like you did last time with the scouts". SJones whips around and grabs JG in a head lock scalbing his knob, giggling, "You little carrottop, stop whining and if the scouts give you another wedgie, tell them they will have to answer to me and if I'm sober enough, I'll fire em all!!"
JG begrudgingly agrees and politely looks up rubbing his head, "On your way back, can you get me a vanilla ice cream cone with some animal crackers?"
Stephen turns around and gives JG a nod, "OK, just don't screw it up like you did with Felix and if daddy wakes up just tell him we're still in Dallas".

Just a little predraft humor. Please do not take offense as I'm just kidding.
