There are two things players should never talk about publicly: another player's money or his woman.
Terence Newman violated that rule the other day, when he talked about Tony Romo's relationship with Jessica Simpson affecting his ability on the field.
That's just wrong.
Just like it would've been wrong for Romo to say Newman didn't deserve the six-year, $50 million extension he received becasue he has an issue staying healthy since he's only played 23 of 32 games the past two seasons.
You don't talk about another man's money because he's worth whatever the organization is willing to pay him.
And you certainly don't talk about another man's wife or girlfriend for any reason unless you have something nice to say because we all know you can't help who you love.
Those words are personal. Those words cut deep. Those words cause wounds that can't be healed by sayng, "I'm sorry" or "I was taken out of context."
It's unprofessional and it's unfair.
This is what I mean when I say this team is in deep need of healing and until it happens, this team isn't going to win anything of note.
This team has issues. The players don't trust one another. The coaches don't trust the players. The coaches don't trust the coaches.
How could they? Wade Phillips threw his most loyal subject - defensive coordinator Brian Stewart - under the bus as soon as he could.
This team needs a week of group hugs and bonding. It's needs those teamwork and trust exercises that occur at workplace retreats.
If it doesn't happen, these Cowboys as currently constructed will bring nothing but disappointment.
