I was this >< close...
It's still in effect. The main rule still stands but teams can still protect 4 PS players per week; with no limit as to how many times you can protect someone per season.I think that was a pandemic thing. pretty sure the main rule is that if you poach them you have to keep them on your 53 man for three weeks
Ocho Cinco, is that you?I feel sorry for Dak. His days are clearly numbered now.
Bleep it, out with the old in and in with the new!
or to the rams straight up for myles garrett.Good. Now we can trade him for a 2nd round pick
True, but any team that does that has to put him on their active roster. He can be snared off the PS at any time.

I think it is more about the NFL landscape is currently littered with project QBs. With another very large draft class of QBs coming in 2027. Supply and demand. Milton like the rest of those QBs not overly valuable with the supply about to grow within a year.I guess I'm just a stupid fan but I really thought he looked good enough that someone would've picked him up. Maybe seeing Russell Wilson as a rookie in the preseason all those years ago and correctly predicting he would be the Seahawks' starting QB that season messed me up. Haha!
Anyway, I'm glad Joe's back with the Cowboys.
Nah that thread belongs in the CowboysZone Hall of Fame. Even I got too caught up in it.Take that whole 50 page thread and lock it
I'm not sure why people get butthurt over taking a flyer on Lance or Milton or Mingo etc!I dont know if Milton ever pans out, even as a backup, but at least the 5th rounder and developmental work is not wasted. At least for one more season.
Doesn’t the emergency QB3 have to be on the 53?I think that was a pandemic thing. pretty sure the main rule is that if you poach them you have to keep them on your 53 man for three weeks
It was still very risking dangling that kind of talent to the open market.Good.
Figured this was the plan from the start.
Pretty sure they changed that in 2022It's still in effect. The main rule still stands but teams can still protect 4 PS players per week; with no limit as to how many times you can protect someone per season.
Thank you, I didn't know they ended that. Still, a team would need a QB injury to want Milton on their roster for 3 weeks I would think.Pretty sure they changed that in 2022
From the CBU 33.2.a
Any player under contract to a Club as a Practice Squad player shall be completely free to negotiate and sign a Player Contract with any Club at any time during the League Year... without penalty or restriction.

Teams can sign players off the practice squad of any other NFL team. That player must be added to the new team's 53-man roster and be eligible for at least three games. COVID-era practice squad protections which enabled teams to designate four players each week who could not be signed by another team no longer exist.

There were several offers but Joe had just demolished his mansion and they broke ground in Prosper for his new crib.To be fair, maybe there were some offers, but he decided to stay in Dallas? I mean he was a free agent for over a day and the Cowboys certainly already made their pitch to him.
i betcha backflip joe can play some LB too. What say you?Season saved!!!!
How many of those will be ready to play immediately though? Rodgers is retiring, Stafford & Cousins are quite possibly retiring. Given the dearth of true starting talent already, I don't see supply & demand being balanced (or even close) any time soon.I think it is more about the NFL landscape is currently littered with project QBs. With another very large draft class of QBs coming in 2027. Supply and demand. Milton like the rest of those QBs not overly valuable with the supply about to grow within a year.
