Joe Milton to Eagles Active Roster

Yes the NFL thought so highly of Joe Milton he sat on waivers for 36 hours unclaimed and returned to the Cowboys' practice squad.

Where he remained unsigned another six and a half weeks before a team with a major QB injury decided to bring him in.
I understand, but now they need him he might be the best backup quarterback in the league

you guys are arguing like they might use him. bigger chances are good they wont.

and its not like they need secrets now a days, thats so 90s. Will you guys stop thinking coaches are morons in this league. "OMG GUYS, hve you heard? Dallas throws to their WR's!!!

NFL: loses its mind

His best shot was here in Dallas. Dak is 34. Hurts is quite a bit younger. Both teams are highly invested in their QBs. If you're a backup looking for playing time, play behind the older QB
Dak still has at least 3 years. Him going to philly NOW with Hurts out for potentially the remainder of the season gives him an instant opportunity.

This frustrates me. Milton was one of my pet cats. I don’t understand why we didn’t put him in the roster after trading for him. He could have been the emergency QB. Schoon is a complete waste of space and I would have signed Milton to the active roster and cut Schoon. I’m going to be angry if Milton plays meaningful snaps for the Eagles and plays well. If that happens someone needs to be fired.

On an another note this move makes me believe Jalen is going to miss significant time.

I think its an ego/approach thing with Milton. I remember hearing rumblings.

I could be a thousand percent wrong, but am searching for answers. Not to say he was all world, but the logic still confuses me. We traded a pick to develop a guy, who actually appeared to be developing, only to let him go regardless.

Im not saying this is a huge loss. I just don't understand what we were doing with Milton in general. If it is about intangibles, ego and such it would help to explain how little he appears to be valued in general.
I hear you. If you trade a mid-round pick for a developmental QB, and they start to develop, then what more could you ask for?

Joe isn’t even that good of an athlete.

Sam Howell has 2.5 times more rushing yards in college and pros.
Dude is 6'5 240 with a 4.5 40 and a cannon of an arm.

No idea why we're suiting Howell who has no potential beyond being the emergency QB you bring in when your season is over.

Dude, do that yourself. It is up to the player not the team.
The player has the option to refuse going to another team. That's it. Any team can prevent a player from leaving by activating him. It's that simple. The Cowboys chose not to do that because he sucks.

There is no such thing as stealing a player from the practice squad. The team has to allow it.
