"I told ya so.." isn't using any kind of logic to form an opinion on the article.. and honestly, i shouldn't even have said it.

I do hope some people read the article and come away realizing that there was no evidence to show that Paterno was involved in any kind of attempt to cover up the information he had been given.

..and the article most certainly dealt in fact. Whether you chose to believe it or not is your opinion, but this was the former deputy AG, who had access to all the information and evidence gathered for the entire case.. and said that in all the evidence there was zero that implicated Paterno in the cover up with the other three men.

That is not a fact. That is this guys opinion. It was Freeh's opinion that Paterno was somewhat culpable based on the evidence he viewed, which isn't a fact, either.

The Paterno defense team is simply stupid.
One man hired Sandusky, was his immediate boss and kept him around for well over a decade.
That man had knowledge the guy was a child molester from multiple sources and did nothing more than alert his bosses there might be a problem....

Paterno KNEW he was at fault.
That's why he didn't act.
He didn't want everyone else to know he was at fault.
He wanted to protect his image at all costs... even if others were getting sexually assaulted by his employee.

I coach kids sports at a high level. We use paid skills trainer.
If one of them molested one of my players I would feel personally responsible for IMMEDIATELY preventing that person from being around kids ever again, much less my players.

This is a guy who goes into parents homes and asks them to trust their kids to him and his staff.
I hope he died of shame.

I think most people didn't think he was "actively" involved in the cover up, but I think he told the President and washed his hands of the situation, and it's kinda hard to argue otherwise.

Roy since you seem DESPERATE to defend Joe in this thread- how many posts?- I challenge you to say he did not enable Sandusky to keep abusing children. He allowed Sandusky to keep coming to Penn State. KNOWING what he had previously done. So how is that not enabling?

If a mother turns her back and does nothing after finding out that her boyfriend is molesting her teenage daughters, .. and the boyfriend continues to molest her daughters, .. what is your opinion of that mother?

Paterno is the 'mother' in this scenario to me.

She didn't molest her children, .. but she could have stopped it. But she decided not to because it would negatively impact her and/or her standing in the community.

Now she did tell the landlord, who did nothing to stop it.

Should I continue this analogy?

To those defending Paterno, .. answer that question. Don't talk about Paterno. What is your opinion of that mother?
