Oh, so you get to decide who the TRUE crimianls are. Wasn't OJ determined innocent by the jury. We do have laws in the US and we do have rules in the NFL. If you break a law in the US you are a true criminal. Doing drugs is against the law if you had not noticed. Do you get to decide which laws are worthy and which ones are not?

Sorry, smoking dope isn't the same as killing someone.

How many innercity kids are killed each day because of drug use and the ramifications of drug deals?

Indirect results.

Let me ask you, if someone drives under the influence and does not hit someone, are they as bad as the one you drives under the influence and does kill someone provided they are driving with the same amount of "influence" as the other person.

Now, marijuana use, driving under the influence of it and kill someone, are they worse than the guy who drives and does not kill someone?

Comparing the results of alcohol abuse and marijuana use is funny.

Alcohol abuse is way more destructive, yet it is legal.

Have you ever been around someone driving stoned? They aren't nearly the same type of threat as a drunk driver. They can, however, get confused at a stoplight.

You watch too many public service announcement commercials.

I did not say they were the same did I?

I am just trying to find out who your TRUE criminals are.

Occurrence and Consequences

During 2004, 16,694 people in the U.S. died in alcohol-related motor vehicle crashes, representing 39% of all traffic-related deaths (NHTSA 2005).

In 2004, about 1.4 million drivers were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol or narcotics (Department of Justice, 2004). That’s less than one percent of the 159 million self-reported episodes of alcohol–impaired driving among U.S. adults each year (Quinlan et al. 2005).

Drugs other than alcohol (e.g., marijuana and cocaine) are involved in about 18% of motor vehicle driver deaths. These other drugs are generally used in combination with alcohol (Jones et al. 2003).

More than two-thirds of child passengers ages 14 and younger who died in alcohol-related crashes during 1997–2002 were riding with the drinking driver; only 32% of them were properly restrained at the time of the crash (Shults 2004).

Damn, I got it! I know how to fix this problem!

Let's get rid of all motor vehicles! Yeah, that will do the trick, I just know it will!

It's not the juice or the weed, it's those damn automobiles, motorcycles, bicycles, pogo sticks, skateboards, rollerskates, maybe even a few horses!

When Ricky gets behind the wheel and kills someone, then you have a point.

Until then, he is just a stoner who likes to smoke.

No.

My point was that you don't get to decide who the TRUE criminals are.

That was the only point.

Smoking tobacco and drinking alcohol are both far more hazardous to your health than weed. Being high is also less impairing than being drunk.

It's dumb, but people need to stop acting like weed is some horrible, deadly drug.

CFL | Williams not worried about Theismann's comments
Tue, 30 May 2006 13:11:02 -0700

Jeff Darlington, of the Palm Beach Post, reports Toronto Argonauts RB Ricky Williams isn't worried about Joe Theismann's latest harsh assessment of him. After all, Williams said Tuesday, May 30, he knows an apology will be forthcoming. After practice today, Williams noted that Theismann has often been critical of him in the past, consistently bashing anyone who is willing to associate with the controversial star.

However, Theismann reverses course when he sees Williams in person, the player said. "Every time he says something, here's what happens: He says a remark about me that's offensive, then when he has to (broadcast) one of our (Dolphins) games, he comes in and apologizes and says, 'I'm sorry,'" Williams said. Williams indicated that he would accept an apology from Theismann.

I don't like Theisman as a color commentator at all. In fact, I prefer Aikman ten times over. Joe is flat out annoying.

Nothing he said constitutes him as a "worthless punk" though. Ricky Williams is proving to the nation that he's prioritized drugs over his career. This disgusts more people than just Theisman.

Pretty funny, actually. I mean, Williams doesn't necessarily have a reputation for telling the truth, but I believe it nonetheless.

I read the first couple of pages of this thread but not all seven, so this might have been mentioned..

I just think dont understand how he can say he is ashamed to be an Argonaut because of Ricky Williams but I have never heard him say he was ashamed of being a Commander because of Dexter Manley and his drugs or with Sean Taylor and his spitting.. its really easy to say that you are ashamed of being an Argonaut-- nobody knows who they are, but you kinda give kudos to yourself for calling yourself one-- but to come out and say that he was ashamed to be a Commander would take some balls, and he wont do it..

EDIT: I just looked at IMDB, and it states : "Plot Outline: Based on the E. Annie Proulx story about a forbidden and secretive relationship between two cowboys and their lives over the years."

Websters definition of cowboy-Function: noun
1 : one who tends cattle or horses; especially : a usually mounted cattle-ranch hand
2 : a rodeo performer

wow, Theismann really snapped on this one. He won't give Ricky a break. Why can't he just bury the bone and forget about it. It would be nice if he could give some positive encouragement to Williams... something, "Hey, break a leg."
