It's up to the players to figure it out. The coach puts out plenty of literature, film, etc. Players need to figure it out in practice and get with the coaches.

these dudes look like they dont love the game and dont want to be there. They look like they physically/emotionally checked out for good. They do not appreciate what they have...they feel something is owed to them..They no longer love what they do, but they DO love what football can do for their own brand. Once some of these cats got paid and with all their side ventures, football is no longer what drives them. IT SHOWS.

What’s #48 doing on this play? He comes flying across the field and takes out a blocker instead of the ball carrier. Was he mistaken about who had the ball? Or was he out of control and thus unable to redirect himself to Odell? Or is it sound football to eliminate a blocker to make his teammates’ job easier?

Boneheaded mental error, undisciplined physical error, or good team play that his teammates couldn’t take advantage of?

It was bad last year......but the D hasn't taken us to a lower level now. And Nolan's D have spent time ranked in the bottom for years.

Are our players that lazy. You won’t get a argument out of me either way. I am just trying to figure this out. I assumed there would be growing pains. And one or two good plays could be contagious. But we had a few stops and a pick or two and they aren’t building off of it. I think the browns smacking them around may have hit them in the ego. Or I hope so. They just got absolutely embarrassed.

But what did you invest in defense to make it better? Players still have to play. We have a lack of talent on defense. Just watch the tape. There are plays where 2 d lineman attack the same gap etc. They are just not good football players. Once Nolan gets his players in here then I will make my determination. But I've seen these same bad players for years now.

Need to make a few shocking changes. Let a few of these guys go. But some are young players and getting a chance to see what they can do. Most of these players if cut may not be able to find a new job.

My guess is half of the starters on this defense won't even be here next year.

oh I knew the defense would be behind the learning curve and struggle. But for it to be THIS BAD? WOW..it comes down to 3 things...piss poor prep. Poor fb instincts, and NO EFFORT. Two of those things can be fixed. The 3rd thing is something a player either has or he doesn't. WE HAVE TOO MANY GUYS THAT DON'T AND 2 of them should be benched this week. A message has to be sent.

There is a difference playing in the middle though because typically that is caused by falling for fakes, but on a long developing run like that there is no fake to fall for.
