He's an understudy of Quinn and he's the secondary/pass game coordinator for the Cowboys. He's helped guys like Bland, Diggs, Kearse etc make this defense what it is, any thoughts on him?????
He was with Mike in Green Bay and even interviewed for the DC position here before Quinn. I'd say he's the clear frontrunner as long as McCarthy stays. Otherwise it'll be Steve Belichick, lol.

Maybe if Quinn leaves, Mike would bring in someone to run a 3-4….(that’s what he had in GB)
Parsons would beast as the pass rushing OLB.
DLaw would be an ideal DE for the 3-4.
Odiggy could play some 3-4 DE.
Williams could play OLB.
Hankins and Smith at NT.
We would have to find inside backers, but those guys can be found.

Just a thought.

This would not surprise me at all.........especially if MM gets an extension. What experienced/good 3-4 DCs are out there???????

Armstrong is pretty good at playing that standup role too whenever they've asked him to do it.

Joe Whitt, Jr., lol. I imagine it would be a hybrid of the current system and what they ran most of the time in Green Bay.

As has already been suggested, I think Quinn may bring Whitt with him to his next team. If not, yes, Whitt would be a good candidate as DQ's replacement.

Don't worry, guys. Dan Quinn is staying. I cast a voodoo spell on him and sent it to him via telepathy to make him want to stay no matter what.

People assume it would be Harris he took with him.
what's the contract status of Al Harris and Witt Jr. ?

Correct me if I'm mistaken but if their contracts are up and expiring, they become free agents
to leave and sign up with any NFL team they prefer.

Only if they were still under contracts, could a Jerry refuse permission for them to be interviewed
and block their pathway to other NFL role openings.

I feel like I saw an interview where Harris straight up openly admitted he would follow DQ somewhere. Wish I could back this up with a video link, but I swear I remember seeing him saying that somewhere.
Looked for the video and couldn't find it, so I didn't post about this, but I remember this as well. He basically he'd go anywhere Quinn went.

Jerry would never do that.

I think it would be Harris because of his ties to McCarthy. Whitt would probably go with Quinn as his DC.

I wrote in another thread that I read that Whitt would be the top choice than the Associate HC/ Def line of the Ravens and then the DC coordinator of the Giants of Quinn should leave

Look, it'd be tough enough if DQ leaves, But I'd like to think that Jerry would be able to promote one of his defensive assistants to DC before Quinn taking that person and doing the same for his new team. Whether it's Harris or Whitt Jr... someone's staying in Dallas. Maybe all of them. :)

We might lose all of our defensive assistant coaches if Quinn leaves. For an organization that's supposed to be a laughingstock, people sure do covet our coaches and de facto GM. Maybe the Cowboys are doing something right.
Need to keep al Harris at all costs if Quinn leaves

He would be the next guy up. McCartht giy so likely wouldnt follow Quinn. No way to tell if he'd be the best option
