They need a QB first ....

No, they have Mcnabb for that.

You remember him, right?

He's the guy that lights up your poor secondary.

Maybe its a sign. They keep airing those Dallas Cowboys almost drafted me commercials on NFLN w Porter

was thinking the same thing.

If we are conservative with free agency (which I think we will be) it may not be a bad idea to add someone like Joey Porter or LaVar Arrington as a designated pass-rushing OLB. Greg Ellis almost never goes a full season without injury and even if he is healthy why not have a guy who can provide a pass rush when Ellis and Ware rests. Porter or Arrington are former big name players who would not be the biggest name on our defense.

Porter is good but he is also heading into his 10 season next year and will be 30.

My rule of thumb is to not be over 30. I question it at 30. He will be 30 by the time the season starts. I would sign him if he wasn't extremely expensive, but I wouldn't sign him to a long term deal. If I did it would be backend heavy and not a lot of signing bonus so I could cut him later in the contract.

His play might have dropped off, but he's still averaged 9 sacks and a couple of picks the last two seasons. And the defense could definitely use a fireplug personality. Awfully tempting.

Oh yeah, that bum that can't ever win a big game- wait, nevermind, the whole team has never been able to win one. :lmao2:

I wonder if NFL Network will pull that commercial?

Porter is a very low character individual- he's a real punk- not to mention Jamal Lewis made him his b in that last game and Joey just cried about it. Plus he got shot up the Hershey Highway at that bar a couple years back.

Mcnabb is a great QB for half a football season ..... then he is either a choke artist or injured .....

Jeff Garcia is perfect for you guys ....... but Mcnabbs ego got in the way again ....

I would much rather have Porter than Arrington.

I agree. Arrington is dirt compared to Porter... There's really no comparison...
