Maybe you were right and wrong... Maybe Parcells liked his skillset but wouldn't have liked him so much once he got to know his personality better.

the Cowboys put a claim on him, don't think Parcells was really worried about his attitude

Ok I must be missing something here. I thought the "claiming order" was based on the last draft order. If so, shouldn't we have been able to claim Thomas ahead of the Saints? We picked before them in the last draft.

Even if it's not based on the last draft, how did the Saints get him over the 49ers and Dolphins?

Edit: Nevermind. Didn't realize the Fins have won 3 games. And the only reason the Saints got him over the 9ers is cuz they've played one more game.

Feel sorry for Thomas. Now he's got no chance of ever becoming a solid football player.

it's by current record, whoever has the least current wins, picks 1st, and so on and so forth, down the line of teams who put in a claim on a player, the waiver wire is kinda like organizing

Good CBs tough to find: The reason the Saints claimed former Packers cornerback Joey Thomas was because the team believes you never have enough good cornerbacks. They liked Thomas in the draft and picked him up for nothing. Four other teams put in waiver claims and the Saints were surprised there weren't more. The Cowboys, Dolphins, Rams and 49ers also put in claims, but the Saints had the worst record among the five teams and won Thomas.
