John Gruden's Agenda?

Lets not get crazy here. While I wouldn't be upset with Gruden there is no way I'd take him over Cowher or Dungy. I'd much rather have one of those two.

Quite right.

Give the man a cigar!

:thankyou:

Cowher in a cowboys hoody is the last thing I would ever want to see. I mean really? One of the biggest faces of the city of ****tsburgh? come on.

If Wade is gone next year, I wouldn't mind him being the coach, actually. As for the three that you mentioned:

Cowher isn't leaving the east coast, IMO. He left the Steelers job to go back to Carolina. He'll have the pick of the Panthers or Commanders jobs next year without relocating, anyway.

Dungy, I believe, retired for real. I'd bet money he's not coming back to coach.

Holmgren is 61 years old and probably just wants a two or three year "fairwell" job. I'd prefer someone younger.

Agreed. Give me: 1. Shanahan 2. Holmgren

...based on who is thought to be available as of now.

anything is better than Wade, so he'd be a pleasant welcome at this point

Go back to the draft and Gruden was very complimentary of the Cowboys at that time when he was on NFL Network.

The other analysts were taking their digs at Jerry and Gruden took the opposite view.

Again, which makes him a good analyst, not necessarily a guy pandering for a job. Apparently he hasn't spent enough time in Bristol to be infected yet :)

(and I do actually like him in the booth, even if he's not heaping praise on us).

Give me Holmgren and let him bring Ron Wolf with him.

I have to say I like the group in the booth on MNF. It was tough to listen to the past groups they had doing the game. I could not stand listening to
Tony Kornheiser constant babbling

I did not take his comments during the game as him wanting to coach in Dallas. He said some positive things about the Cowboys and this week I'm sure he will say some positive things about the Vikes and Packers.

Exactly. He's just a nice guy. When Terrico was rehashing Romo's history of not winning the BIG ONE-Wow, first time we've heard that!-after JG had been gushing about him earlier, it was refreshing to hear Gruden stick to his guns. He said something like, "Just one last thing, this guy missed three games last year, & I don't think they won one-well, except when they beat us 13-9...but they don't score without Tony Romo. Sure he needs to take better care of the football, but he gives them a chance to compete, to be there at the end, & I like him".

He knows what he likes & he likes the Cowboys. I think that right now, Wade has us on the right track, and is starting to get all of the talent moving in the right direction. However, if something were to happen, I would take John Gruden in a heartbeat.

I've always liked Jaws except when he does Philly games where he becomes the Anti-Aikman. Tirico's meh, but that's what he's supposed to be. Gruden is the best analyst they've had in while, although I bet he gets another coaching job next season (to the point of this thread...).

Kornheiser was the worst since the Dennis Miller debacle.

I'll take Gruden, wish he could bring Monte Kiffin with him.

This.

I seriously doubt anyone thinks they are going to land a job just because they butt-kissed Jerry on MNF.

Hahaha! You are correct, very correct. He was making the broadcast tolerable because the other two were so far up dumhomme's butt it was sick...

worse than Wade - all three of the old guys - don' t want anything to do with the geratic ward

what we need is new younger blood some body thats hungry

I'd take Gruden in a heart beat over the Big Doofus on our sidelines pretending to be a head coach.

Or maybe you haven't been online all week. There was a huge mega thread right after the game about Gruden's agenda.

Not hating, just saying. Yes, it's been posted several times.

:nono: You my dear, ARE hating. :laugh2:
