"There has been something wrong with Murray's game the last couple of weeks." Maybe not an exact quote, but words to that effect during the game broadcast.

What the heck was he talking about?

Gotta agree with lynch. Don't see the same burst or physicality as I did earlier in the year.

the very net play was the long run to break the record lol.

Murray had the sideline on that one and literally stopped downfield to find a defender to run sideways into.

I appreciate Murray but an open field runner he ain't

If Lynch is right, what does that mean for the playoffs? More work for Randle or Dunbar or less emphasis on the running game?

His last 5 games....

vs Philly: 20 carries for 73 yards for 3.7 ypc
vs Chicago: 32 carries for 179 yards for 5.6 ypc
vs Philly: 31 carries for 81 yards for 2.6 ypc
vs Indy: 22 carries for 58 yards for 2.6 ypc
vs Washington: 20 carries for 100 yards, 5.0 ypc

Over the past 5 games he has average 98 yards per game and 3.9 ypc.

Of course if you stretch it out beyond 5 games the numbers start to look better, however, there is <some> truth in Lynch's analysis.

Meanwhile Romo went full MVP the last 4 games thankfully

I don't think Murray has been the issue outside of his hand. I think the run blocking is not as good as it was early in the year. That is not hard to do. Pop in some of the early games like the Texans if you want to see some transcendental run blocking.

Leary got dinged and had a bad couple of games. Free has been on that bad ankle and it got to where he had to sit out. Martin had a bad performance against the Eagles and while improved the next game he still had lost some power. He was back to snapping out of his stance and driving into defenders against Washington. He looks primed for a big game.

They started stacking the box against us in the Rams game -remember how Fisher wasn't going to 'let' us run on his team- but we were able to power through a lot of that anyway early in the season. Between spotty play at the guard spots and RT, we were no longer able to reach some of those cutoffs and defenses were running to the ball on our plays better.

OTOH, we have been much better pass blocking. We were pretty atrocious on stunt, twist, and blitz pickup for much of the year. That came to a head during the Washington and Arizona games. To their credit, they have gotten better. I think I am starting to become a believer in Parnell's pass blocking. The guards have shown much better awareness and they all are much better in unison.

Lynch was trippin and had to check himself later in the game as Murray ran thru tackles. Announcers talk without thinking at times.

When I saw the replay of that run, he was trying to switch the ball to his left hand, and then decided against it. I think focusing on his hand and not just running slowed him down some, and then he tried to cut back inside the DB, but ended up running into him.

Murray has slowed down later in the season, but I think it has more to do with defenses stacking the box than fatigue. Note that Romo is on complete fire in December, because teams are stacking against the run and he's making them pay for it.

Teams are stacking 8 in the box more on first down and playing run first with occasional run blitzes. The Cowboys counter it by throwing more on first down and getting the defense off balance. The middle is wide open for Witten, Beasley, Randall or Dunbar. Murray may not get his 100, but he still gets his carries and the D has to respect it and opens up the field for the passing game. As long as the Boys don't go back to being one dimensional, this is working.

Gameplan is to shut down the run and make Romo beat them. But for the most part, Romo has been making wise decisions and hittimg the open receiver----no matter if its the RB, TE or WR . This is why I think the OL should be the MVP for the Cowboys.

oh, and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express last night.

I'm glad you are starting to appreciate Parnell. I'd like to move Free to LG although I'm certain he can anchor there. Leary has been problematic although the entire interior has had some problems with pass blocking...on occasion. It appears to be slowly getting better.

Did you notice Fuzzy if they blitzed either A gap in the Was game and esp if they stacked a blitz or stunted into it?

Lynch said Murray was not breaking through tackles like he was earlier in the year. He later said he takes it back after Murray crashed through a couple of Commanders on his TD run.
