Oh, now I get it.
Somehow this a racial thing for you.
Wow
That's silly, IMO.
But I'll bail on this , as that's a dead end street

Racial?? That's a huge stretch! Funny you would bail after you brought race into it. Oh and BTW I'm white so good try.

Not to mention I'm bigger than Johnson, and unlike him (who is trained to play football), I'm trained to kill (Hooah). Yeah, I have zero fear of Matt Johnson.

That said, I like the way he played tonight. But it's a simple fact that he IS injury prone. Like I said, there can still be a role for him on the team, just can't be relied upon to be a starter.

I disagree.. he's not injury prone, imo.

Just had the conversation with some buddies recently--two white and one black.
They were asking why JJT and Calvin were always insulting Johnson...then it digressed from there.
So it sounded so familiar...
Ah forget it.
Hate on him all you like. Free speech and all.

You missed the point all together. The point was that people hated on Felix because he was fragile but at least the guy had skins on the wall. Yet Matt Johnson gets treated like a god around here and the guy can't stay health. That's the point. You want your safety to bring it not get hurt after a few days of practice or 15 plays into a preseason game. Pretty simple really.

Agreed. Hopefully his body just needs to get "Acclimated" to the rigors of being an NFL safety, but as of right now I'd say he's injury prone. Plain and simple.

That said, safety is one of the most physically demanding positions in sports. Have to be able to run and cut and put all that stress on your tendons, then you have to be able to come up and lay the wood on a 235 lb RB or a 270 TE. Not easy for one's body to be able to handle those opposite extremes. I can tell you right now, my body would hold up fine doing the hitting, but my knees would be in shreds trying to stay with a 170 lb WR after he makes his 75 cuts.

I see your point.
I guess I haven't noticed him being treated like a God around here.
The guy who seems to get hype that seems out of place to me is Beasley. Dude must have 25 threads last year.

Also, I think people were frustrated with Felix in part because we passed on Ray Rice, Chris Johnson, and many other to take him in the 1st round. So his injuries were especially frustrating.
Johnson was picked in between the 4th and 5th round ad a comp pick.

I agree with that. That's why I just see him as a guy with talent that won't live up to it because he can't stay healthy. Someone guys have that ability and some don't. Based on his history so far he falls in the group of don't live up to it.

I agree with Beasley as well. I am hoping one of the other WR takes his spot that can play ST. I just don't see the upside in keeping a guy that tiny he doesn't offer much IMO. Felix wasn't as bad as people made him out to be. He was a much better runner between the tackles then given credit for. I am disappointed he didn't pan out for us but he did give us some good games and he is still young so I expect it won't be the last we hear of Felix.

They awarded 8 extra compensatory picks sandwiched between the 4th and 5th rounds.
They do still call those pics 4th rounders though.
Johnson was the final comp pick before the 5th round began.
The regular 4th ended at pick 127 and he was picked 135th. Pick one of Rd 5 was pick 136.

I should just have said he was the final comp pick in the 4th round.
My bad

It looked like one of those injuries a player in the regular season would come back from. I saw him in on a few plays, and he seems very physical and quick to pursue. Dunno why, but I want to like this kid. Just hope he can stay healthy so we can see what he can bring.

I watched the game and didn't notice anything special by Johnson. And the one time we really got to see him, he gets injured making a tackle. He'll never make it on the team with performances like that. He really needs to show something on the field and be able to stay healthy. Too much competition this year for him to stick with another injury-riddled year.

I'll tell you how I'm going to look at this. Given Matt Johnson's injury history, I'm going to look at a negative X-ray as progress, the proverbial step in the right direction.

That makes one of us.
