Currently a backup G for SF. I wonder if SF would take a 7th or 6th to send him back to us. He has position flex at G/C and knows our system.
Id be open to it. Id rather trade excess players if that deal is swingable. But I would be willing to bring him back for a late rounderCurrently a backup G for SF. I wonder if SF would take a 7th or 6th to send him back to us. He has position flex at G/C and knows our system.
Not for a pick, but for a comparable player like Ealy maybe.

Agreed.
I'm still not sure we won out in that Switzer vs Ward trade, but at least it was a player for player rather than a draft pick.

Might take much more than Ealy. Isn't Jonathan Cooper a starter? If so, it would take at least 2 players (Ealy and probably someone like Datone Jones), plus a mid-to-late round pick to trade for Cooper since he's a starter and was a 1st round draft pick (which he finally proved somewhat last year while with the Cowboys). The 49ers aren't just going to give him away, especially since they now know we are desperate. Not for a pick, but for a comparable player like Ealy maybe.

You and the OP are correct. He is a backup. I thought he was a starter? I was wrong.I haven’t followed, but OP said he was a backup in SF.
it appears we didn't swap evenly to meAgreed.

Cowboys lost in that trade BIG TIME.it appears we didn't swap evenly to me
Last I heard he was behind Griff Whalen battling to make a dent on the roster. Time will tell though.
We didn’t. But the combined Switzer-Ward-Tavon-draft pick trade worked out ok.
