Nah. Jerry ran as much as jimmy did. Jimmy went to the dolphins and was a failure. Its both, being rich and successful is the best combo. Better than being just rich and better than being just succesful. The more people that watch, the more money the cowboys have. The more money the cowboys have means: better facilities, better amenities for the players, more televised games. These things in turn help jerry sell the cowboys when recruting free agents. Example: nobody wants to play in cleveland because its a dump, the ownership sucks, not a popular team. The cowboys are the Yankees of Football.

When you are a relevant team people will always want to play for you. Yankees will always have a recruiting advantage because so many kids grew up watching them and wanting to be a yankee. Same for cowboys. So viewership matters in the grand scheme if things. But you gotta have a big view of things.

5 championships thats more than the majority of teams will have in the next 200 years.

Players love Jerry. Good owner, good friend, good heart, loyal to his players
Being in the ring of honor means alot to those guys. Why would they care if this has become the POS organization that some of you claim it is.

Take away the crippling loses of the franchise QB and top 5 WR and it seems to me that the organization was actually turning the corner.
12-4 and a playoff win last year followed a 2-0 start this year.
Pretty sure this team was a playoff team and maybe a deep run playoff team this year without the catastrophe.

Sure would love to see what they could do if they could somehow salvage a wildcard spot. Not overly optimistic though...as they need at least 2 wins out of those 7 Romo-less games.
They'll lose at least two even after he gets back...imo.
