Saints rob ryan
And I'm talking about the ADHD mindset that somehow equates firing coaches every year with accountability without taking into account the circumstances in which they were operating, as if they do their job in a vacuum. Coaching and talent are both important to success, but they don't operate independently of one another. This team made zero investment in this defense last offseason banking on the "let them get healthy" strategy. It blew up in their faces. They need new talent, and a lot of it, and it doesn't matter who the coach is until they get it, because no scheme can cover up gaping holes in a defense forever.

Not sure what you think Rob Ryan proves. He was here the year before last under similar circumstances and the defense wasn't good enough then either. As for his success with the Saints, they have a much deeper roster.

He's pretty much the poster child for the idea that you can't expect coaching to overcome a thin roster when injuries hit. Here his defense struggled when injuries hit. In NO, his defense overcame injuries. Either he had some sort of defensive coaching epiphany on that beach in the off season, or the difference is the roster he was coaching.

The way I see it is if Garrett stays, the rest of them should stay. Why replace the coordinators when Garrett isn't signed beyond the 2014 season and hasn't made the playoffs for three straight seasons? Also, what quality coaches would want to come into that situation, especially when Rob Ryan and Kiffin were fired so quickly and the messy offensive coordinator/playcalling situation.

If you keep JG, let him keep his coordinators and see what happens. Then if he get's fired, you can let the new coach bring in his own staff and not have to keep guys who were brought in the year before under the old HC.

I'm okay with Kiffin staying just because we implemented an entirely new defensive scheme, new playbook, new coaches. He's only had one offseason, one draft and one FA period where JJ didn't do much to help him out, no point in bringing in a new DC every year or two. Plus the insane amount of injuries they had to deal with. I'd be ok with him being fired too because of the disgrace that was our defense but I can justify it either way. Maybe the players benefit from more time in the system and better health/continuity. Hopefully Monte gets some nice players in the draft?

Is this board going to line up behind the company line again this offseason? Kiffin just needs better players?

I'm a huge Jerry supporter.

I'm now starting to get tired of his ********, he is digging a grave for us.

Maybe the difference here is coaching? Rob Ryan took the worst defense in NFL history and did something. Hard brush it all off and say just injuries held us back. Poor drafting, poor coaching, and injuries killed us. Plus Jerry keeping jay rat for too long and actually counting on him.

There are many like you who are finally seeing the light. I know it is difficult, but it is necessary and inevitable.

I wish I worked for a company where I could be mediocre or awful and not worry out anything.

I do. It' not bad. However, I'm not a billionaire with millions of peoples hard earned leisure time, hard earned dollars, and sometimes emotion tied into the success of where I work.
