draegerman. Where is it I said Jerruh was desperate for money? NOWHERE. You just made that up.
Not really. I guess you could have accused me of that if I had written: "It's obvious to you that Jerry desperately needs a sex change in the next 10 - 15 years, right?"
Then you'd actually have a leg to stand on. But the truth is that I used the adjective "desperately" to sum up the theme of your post. I took a writer's liberty of doing this because that's how you came off sounding. Now if I had put the word in quotations, once again, you'd have a better leg to stand on. But I didn't and yet, you still did...feel me?
In case that isn't very clear, here's an example that should seal the deal:
If you wrote -

draegerman, I think you're demented and I have this hatred for you.
And I change it to read:

draegerman, I think you're a demigod and I have this mancrush for you.
Again, you'd have a magnificent leg to stand on (even two for that matter).
WHAT I SAID is that Jerruh had to plan for future renovation and maintenance of the Stadium.
Yep, that was the
gist of it. But if we're being totally honest, here's how you really summed it up:
THAT is why he needes (sic) to sell the naming rights.
And here's the link to what you wrote and my response (just in case I get accused of making something up again):

Common stat among engineers is that any large building will need a facelift or major work in 10-15 years. Also it is figured that that cost is usually about 20% of the cost of the building. Counting inflation that comes out to at least $300 million in 10-15 years for that stadium. Borrowing money is not a good thing to try and project since you have no idea what interest rates will be in 10-15 years. The SMART thing to do is to have the money ready to go when you need it. That is where the naming rights to the stadium come in.
Again, you have no basis and no data to back up your gloomy forecast. Plus you're not presenting the contractual agreement between Jerry and the builders - for all we know he could have a warranty that covers 10 years or 5 million people (or whichever comes first). Feel me again?
The irony is...well actually, the
hypocrisy here is that you acknowledged (in bold): "
since you have no idea what interest rates will be in 10-15 years". And yet you claim to know that the cost for a facelift of the building in 10 - 15 years will be 20% -
And then...you count the rise of inflation and come up with a figure of $300 million? Seriously?
Let's go back to the one thing you got right here:
...you have no idea what interest rates will be in 10-15 years
Beautiful.
Now let's see how it reads in Spanish:
usted no tiene ninguna idea qué tipos de interés serán en 10-15 años
Lovely.
One more time in Mandarin:
您不知道什麼利率將是在10-15年内
Man, that's just deep. Get's ya right here, doesn't it (points to heart)?
Edit: I forgot to add that I am an Engineer, but I prefer the term "Demo guy" because you get more cool points for saying it.
