Dont know if many have noticed but the past 2 weeks he has looked alot faster and actually tried a few of his old jukes he had from his rookie year. Still, he isnt as explosive as he was his rookie year but as Bill Parcells would say "when he turns his headlights on look out. Right now there on, but only on dim." I dont know what hes done dropped weight, lost some outside influences, stopped lifting heavy weights, or his foot might be feeling better but its obvious of his improvement. Even shows in his recieving. Maybe its the light workload. All the defenses are starting to wear down while Julius is still fresh. Jones is a mystery man. opinions

Some of you guys are spoiled by #22 where against the Gints on the Road with a separated shoulder he won us homefield in aa game #8/88/84 couldn't do with their HOF passing attack.
we also have an offense that is not gonig to run, run, run but will run and pass to setup the big play (ie. TO's two TDs and even Craytons blitz burner).
the days of 25 carry RBs are long gone (in dallas and leage wide essentially).
stats & avg are irrelevant here.Doomsday101;1769639 said:Jones had a good game that does not change the fact he is not worth paying big money in FA and unless he is willing to stay at a low price. I doubt he will remain in Dallas after this season. Emmitt or Tony may have spoiled Cowboy fans but then no one is comparing JJ or MBIII to Tony or Emmitt. Fact is Jones carries have decreased this season he is avg 3.9 a carry much less then Barber who is over 5 yards a carry

BIG $$$ is probably not happening IF we can draft a legit feature back (not trading up for some lame top #3 runner those days are over too in a passing era). But as pAyRod just learned, other teams might not offer BIG $$$.
JJ seems to be making better decisions lately, moreso than alot of people here with their "fantasy football" type draft desires.
What superbowl was won in recent years with a #1 OVERALL type stud RB? (none would be the answer).
The Pats are a role model for player acquisition and RB is an afterthought to them for good reason - lil bill learned from big bill.
Barber as a primary back SCARES ME and brings a HEAVY RISK of screwing up a formula that is working great
bottom line is we don't need to trade up for a RB (waste two #1 picks ugh) nor do we need to be frugal with JJ either and toss him out like garbage. we'll know soon enough, it's nice to have concerns such as this
Having to slowly re-program Julius Jones to a better way to use his abilitiesplaymakers;1768934 said:I breezed through the Giants and Eagle game this week and noticed something.

Agreed. But I think we have the $$ cap space to keep him short term otherwise plan B is look for a solid RB in the draft, perhaps after a tradedown with our 2nd #1 pick.Doomsday101;1769670 said:In this era of FA you can't keep everyone teams have to pick and choose. If Jones is willing to come back at a low cost then great but I highly doubt that will be the case.
As for giving up 2 #1's I never said we should. I don't expect to get McFadden now that Cleveland is playing better than most expected but I do think there are some other very good RB that Dallas very well could be interested in.

One thing many ignore is JJ is stout with the football... how many rookie backs are fumble machines, can't pickup the blitz, penalties, etc.
Jerruh is a "aint broke dont' fix" type guy and Tuna instilled the RBs in the 2nd/3rd mentality upon him (plus he always used a mix of RBs going back to the Gints). TO will be back, lots of incentives to keep JJ another year.
I'm thinking 70:30 he's back unless teams make stupid $$$ offers (and i really don't see that to be honest).
