Nors I get the feeling you want Henson to fail
No, he wants people to praise him for being right.

It ought to be about football but it never is.

I'm talking football in this thread. You are digressing. ;)

Romo beats out Henson - don't get so cocky on your Parcells knowlege Hos. You far from called that......

Who called 3-4 and hybrids. Parcells players.
Who was calling Howard trade any day now - stay in 4-3.

Post change your mantra changed!

Yes back to Henson. He's not #2 because he's not ready and Romo is.

we know, we know, get over it, same song and dance every time you post

I look at it like we drafted him No. 1 and I am going to be very patient with him,” Jones said of Henson. “Henson has many ingredients. The one thing he was lacking was experience and his lack of experience is telling at this point.”

Jones might be learning. Im not big on Henson but at least he will get a fair shot if Jones stays true to his word.

That said, Romo also clearly outplayed Henson.

Truth be told Nors, he's actually outplayed Bledsoe as well.

I think Parcells didn't play Henson because he feared it may hurt him. That is probably one reason. The other is Henson is not ready. Right now if I were him I would play Romo as much as possible. He's #2 and he needs the experience. Henson just has to get better. I agree with Nors here.

Hensonites - thats your angle. Only Reason Henson can't beat out Romo is Romo is better than Bledsoe!

Backup QB's are usually backup for a reason..... Romo might be pressing Bledsoe. Thats a good problem!

Sorry, as you and I both know, Romo has no chance of beating out Bledsoe, as Henson had no chance of taking over for Vinny last year. It is the way of things. No matter what you want to read into it, Parcells likes the guys he is experienced with.

With that being said, Romo is a capable backup. I like Romo. I really do. And hope he can serve his purpose well. Henson has time to develop, and Jones, thank goodness, sees that.

Romo pressing Bledsoe is an absolute joke. You should know better Nors.

Romo won't press anything but his slacks for the golf course in Grapevine, TX. :D

Let me go ahead and nominate myself for POST OF THE DAY. :)

that was sarcasm - My Pro Bledsoe stance is well established.....

And Romo is nothing more than a recently signed, two year backup until proven otherwise. I for one would like to see Romo push Bledsoe. I do like his on the field behavior.

As for Henson, he has time to learn.

Wrong. I've not talked about this year. I've supported the long term solution. I don't care who wins this year. I care who eventually takes over. I am far from wrong on this as it hasn't happened yet. If I am right you can rest assured I will not need to remind you of it every day.

Who called 3-4 and hybrids. Parcells players.
Who was wrong all of 2003 and 2004 on this subject? Look in the mirror.

Who was calling Howard trade any day now - stay in 4-3.
Wasn't me, I recently proved that beyond a shadow of a doubt. Those who can read know I don't care 4-3 or 3-4. I just like exposing stupid statements about one or the other. Really stupid ones are a lot of fun.

Post change your mantra changed!
Actually I haven't changed from day 1. Like I said before, it requires the ability to read.

To me, being ready means ready to start. Bledsoe is the starter. Henson will be the future. I wish Romo well. Too bad you can't say the same for Henson and mean it.

I see Romo the future - Henson is really nothing but "potential". And its starting to look like that is being kind.

I need a hat like Johnny Carson wore for Karnak. Did I call that or what?

Romo hasn't taken a snap against a first team defense in the regular season, and he's far from a perfect prospect as a backup. He has , shall we say, the "potential" to be a solid backup this year, but that remains to be seen.

To suggest he is the future is nothing but pure conjecture. There isn't one iota of difference between the notion that Romo is the future and the notion that Henson is the future.

Right now, Romo is no more than Steve Walsh. Some people actually thought he was the future as well, but it didn't quite work out that way.

Romo beat Henso out again.

Henson had his grill handed to him on Turkey Day. Why can't he shake Romo who beat him out in a fair battle?

That future may not be so brite as you paint it. Just throwing that out there for you to dismiss.....

Parcells thinks like this:

He will not put a player out there if he thinks he can't do the job. He uses that principal to all positions. Last year he brought George in to back up JJ. JJ goes down and everyone wants the RB in Lee to play. But the kid can't block and kid has issues with assignments. Not going to do it. He plays George in that instance.

He fired George and Lee. Lee was getting Buffalo QB's killed - he's already gone.

There is something he see's in Henson as just not ready. He does not have luxury of "getting Henson" all that experience. He has a team he is preparing for the season and he's giving the Reps to his #1 and #2.

Just my 2 cents.

You start off by telling people, "This is how Parcells thinks."

Then you end up telling people this is just your two cents.

Doesn't that throw up a red flag to you?

It does to me.
