Josh Allen is exactly what the Cowboys hope Dak will become

Outside of 5 or 6 teams, every NFL team hopes and wants their QB to turn into Josh Allen. Maybe some of those 5 or 6 teams even want Josh Allen.

That's kind of staying the obvious.

not a dak hate post but this is what Dak is.
He's the guy who overthinks every throw because he doesn't want to create a turnover. That's how he got the job and that's how he has kept his jobs throughout his career starting in high school, college, and now.
He now has a quandary, do I try to make the low percentage pass or do I wait on a high percentage pass? That's where he is now and will probably stay. He probably can make some of the passes but he talks himself into not throwing the ball because of the fear of creating a turnover.
That's how I see him. He can't defeat his mind which is talking him out of even trying to make these throws.

He would have to train himself to go against his instincts to change the way he plays. That is instrumentally hard, especially in his 7th year in the league.

Very true. What's sadder is that even an atrocious QB like jim McMahon used to take a shot down the field every now and then

Dak will never be in the same league as Allen. First, he cannot even connect on 20 yard passes. Second, he cannot run like Allen. Third, He is not as smart as Allen. Prescott is the $200 million dollar fraud. And Jerry has been hoodwinked. He will disappointed the more he lets Dak destroy this team. Let’s hope Rush demonstrates his superiority and if he does and Jerry puts Dak back in, well all I can say is dumb and dumber.

dak couldn't be any more than a backup on most teams so quit comparing him to the chargers qb and for kansas city qb he would be his ball boy that is all he is remember he's in his 7 year so draft some body or trade with sf for there qb and let dak set on the wood and then when its realistic trade him to a team that's a sucker for a 7 round pick because that's all jerry has the brains for while stephen drinks and gets his call girls on the bus or jerry's big new party boat

Dak is in his 7th year . Dak is exactly who he is at this point , there is no turning in to anybody anymore.

Exactly.............somebody name me a QB that got drastically better after their 7th year in the league.

And I am not talking about bouncing back from a slump, I am talking about a QB that is a 5 or 6 their first seven years in the league and then became an 8 or 9 for the rest of their career.

I can't think of a single QB that has done this; anybody got an example?

That was pre-injury Dak, he would just run people over left and right................then his ankle snapped...........Dak has never been the same

Reminds me of RG3, dude won rookie of the year and was lighting up the league and then he blew out his knee........was never the same

I do not believe that the Bills have better weapons than what Dak has had in the past but Allen has elevated the talent with his play. While in Dallas, I do believe we overrate our talent, I believe Amari Cooper, Lamb, Gallup, Schultz, Zeke are much better weapons than what Allen is working with.

It's simple: If you want to get paid the big boy bucks, you have to play like a big boy.
You realize Dak has played like 7 total games with all those players healthy you mentioned right? Not even bringing up the other part of how half of those 7 games both his OT’s didn’t play. And aren’t we the same fan base that trash McCarthy and Kellen meanwhile Josh has one of the best coaches and OC’s in football…..Josh is better than Dak but really not sure why we’re making up this narrative that his situation is worst than Daks. We literally clown the cowboys front office, coaches, and half the players yet in the same breathe we act like Dak is in some great situation. Make up y’alls mind you can’t have it both ways

Don't we all wish Allen was our QB. Their WR's and scheme are day and night better than Dallas but again this is Jerry and the FO's fault.
Dak is who he is, he will never be elite, I was screaming this at the top of my lungs every day in these forums and was being shouted down.
You can never overpay a franchise QB, but you can always overpay an average guy. Throw the money aside, it's never been about the money. The Salary cap can be managed by all NFL teams.

Jerry just doesn't have the guts to try and win anymore. When is the last time this team tried to augment through FA or a trade. The FO is always on their yacht the first week of Free agency.
This is not a high spending team at all, forget the part about getting to a salary cap floor. I am talking about actual dollars spent. Jerry has a certain mindset on how he wants to build the team. They don't come in trying to win a SB which is becoming plainly obvious, just look at their actions not their words. The last time there was any urgency was when Parcells was here even then Bill didn't like Owens but at least Jerry was trying. The biggest trick that Jerry played on the fans is he realized that winning a SB or trying to win a SB does not impact his bottom line. He just does not want to bottom out. Just like in 2020 when Dak got injured they could have gone 3-13 and get a high pick, they won 7 games and again tried to reach for being mediocre.

That is the story of this franchise, just between 7 to 9 wins and reach for that last playoff spot, get flexed to Sunday night.
Stephen A, Skip & Shannon, all the hoopla with being on the front page of ESPN. It's all about the sizzle.
Expecting a change after 27 years is idiotic, it just will not happen. Jerry has not learned his lesson and I am afraid he never will. He can never accept that Jimmy was the reason he won 3 SB's and until he accepts his mistake and hands the team over the football people there will be real results.

The Dak issue all along has been he is a good QB who needs the majority of things to go right for him to be successful. There is nothing wrong with that, an organization has to be honest with themselves to assess their talent. Dak will never be elite just like Cousins, Carr, Jimmy G , it doesn' I don't personally blame Dak, Zeke, Romo, Tank, Dez, and all the other guys who got big contracts. They would be stupid not to sign them.

Dak is basically Kirk Cousins whether we like it or not.

Cousin's is a more accurate thrower and seems to read the field better. He does however make a lot of dumb plays from time to time.

You can't blame players for wanting to be paid. Maybe Brady is the exception because he is set up for life. However most of our guys aren't playing for a ring. They are playing for a new contract.

Problem is that he already got paid and never had to prove he's a "big boy".
