Josh Ball moved to G

I believe he got injured fairly early in camp his rookie year (high-ankle sprain) and they stashed him on IR for the year because they didn't need him. So last year was his first full preseason, and he had some very bad outings early on that had fans ignoring the fact that he improved some as the preseason wore on. Of course, he didn't look real good when he got some playing time during the season. Maybe he can get it turned around and at least turn into a serviceable backup. Some players need time to adjust to the speed of the game, reshape their bodies, etc. Of course, he may just turn out to be a waste of roster space, but we'll see if he's able to progress or not.

And we see where this is going.

Despite the reality that this team needs a legitimate starting LG, they are already selling Ball as the solution and why they spent all their prime picks (first 3 rounds) on RBs, TEs and/or WRs.

I've seen enough of the Jones' and their spin tactics to not see this coming from 100 miles away.

Knocking what out of the park? There haven't been any team activities
Nothing but rainbows and unicorns from Coach Mike

I hope Waletzko steps up and becomes a player,. At this point I'm not sure any of the backups from last year are even quality backups. Hope they prove to be
Rehabbing

You do know that last year was Ball's first real season after being chosen in the 2021 draft and missing his entire first season due to injury? A lot of fans are ready to give up on him after essentially one season. That's somewhat understandable because he had some tremendously bad outings during that season. But he's still just a young player trying to find his footing. Maybe he'll find it at guard.
Agreed not a lost cause, but we also haven't seen much to not warrant addressing the position. Then again remember had bad Steele played earlier in his career and took big steps forward, so we'll see what Ball can do this training camp.

never a bad thing to have players on the oline that can play multiple positions in a pinch...unfortunately it sounds like this guy might be on his way out in the near future.

These guys may not have been a good fit for zone blocking so we'll see what happens.
But" Knocking it out of the park"?
So is the cook at golden corral right pumpkin?

We definitely should not forgo drafting an OL because of Ball (or Farniok or Edoma, for that matter).

Yeah. 6’8” and 310 lbs and you’re gonna try to line him up inside?

Just cut to the cause and cut him outright.

Stop wasting time.
I don't know why some of our fans are so overreactionary. Some of you would have kicked players to the curb before their careers really even got started. No reason not to give him a look.

Probably can ship out Martin now that Ball will start over him.

It's a last chance for Ball to show he deserves to be depth.

I give Ball a 50-50 chance of making it half way through training camp and about a 15% chance of making it on the roster. Moving him to guard does not impact our draft IMO

And some fans still can’t admit that Chaz Green sucked.

Do me a favor. Call me “overreactionary” when they cut Josh Ball at the end of training camp.
