Josh Brent signed 1-yr extension/D-Law activated/Edwards waived

Dont care how they do it. Pass rush has to be better.

Add Anthony Spencer back into this mix as well...and things are looking enticingly interesting to this fan.

Source: not only did Cowboys DT Josh Brent return to practice this week, he signed a 1-year extension with the team though 2015.

Dallas can activate Josh Brent following the bye week, meaning he could join the 53 man roster for the final 6 games of the regular season.

This is important from a free agency perspective.

Players need to spend at least 6 weeks on the roster in order to accrue a season of service for free agency.

If Brent doesn't get added immediately to the active roster following the bye (team can ask for an exemption), he won't be able to accrue a season for free agency this year.

That would mean his contract would run through 2017 instead of 2016.

I'm liking this, but I want you to know that I liked it because it was so bad that it was sort of good.

I had a dog like that. I shortened his name to Idot (no relationship Idgit) which is short for idiot. So ugly he was cute and so stupid he was well....

Well, show up in practice, get on the field and then produce sacks from his position.

Don't need anymore almost guys, Cowboys got enough JAGs now....Anthony Spencer is a non-factor (as usual), Selvie is a non factor, Brent will be a non factor......Cowboys need Pass Rushers ....Pass Rushers that will get to the QB... not another JAG holding a position... someone to push the pile isn't the answer..... Hopefully TANK Lawrence....will show up and make difference.....granted he is still a rookie...but can't wait to see what he got.

Just remember that "what he's got" this year is from a rookie who missed camp and the preseason.

The Cowboys are keeping Josh Brent around Dallas beyond this season.

The defensive tackle signed a one-year contract extension through 2015 at the minimum, NFL Media's Ian Rapoport reported, according to a source who has seen the deal.

Brent is still serving a 10-game suspension. The suspension is part of the 26-year-old being conditionally reinstated by the NFL following his conviction on an intoxication manslaughter charge, which stemmed from a 2012 accident in which Cowboys practice squad member Jerry Brown was killed.

Brent returned to practice this week and will be eligible to make his on-field debut Nov. 23 against the New York Giants. Owner Jerry Jones raved about Brent on Friday.

"Josh had a day yesterday of days," Jones said on KRLD-FM, per The Dallas Morning News. "He was outstanding. We were all encouraged by what we saw yesterday."

Jones promised Jerry Brown's mother following her son's death that he wouldn't turn his back on Brent. The owner has made good on that promise, keeping the defensive tackle around the team.

Rapoport points out that Brent could have possibly made more than the minimum next season on the open market if he played well to close this year. The contract could be Brent returning the loyalty Jones has shown.

palmer gets rid of the ball quickly,,dlaw will have a great game if he just puts some pressure on palmer.

I am really excited to see D-Law play. I was in Oxnard this summer and the kid looked good - especially for a rookie. The guys on Talkin' Cowboys said that he had added some muscle while being out which is great. We need some pressure and hopefully he can bring it today. Palmer is a statue in the pocket.

I wasn't all that hot on him before the tragedy - do you guys think he can have a positive impact when he returns? I do like the fact that he is a big body that can move a bit.

Interesting how we extended Brent without even seeing him play post-accident. Maybe we got him on the cheap?

The only thing wrong with Anthony Spencer's play was that he got hurt...JAG could be applied to off the cuff analysis by fans also...

Did anyone see anything out of Lawrence this game?
