As myself and other have said the only reason #68 was wide open is because the refs told everyone #70 was the eligible guy.

This can also be confirmed by Damone Clark literally pointing at #70 before the Lions snapped the ball.

Do not allow the media to write the narrative of this being guaranteed points for the Lions and they lost because of it. If the refs swallow the flag in that situation the media wouldn't be in uproar regarding Dallas being told the wrong guy was eligible. It would just be another "Oh, the Cowboys are just being the Cowboys" type of narrative.

That coincides with the audio of the play that captured the ref identifying #70 as the eligible man.

I really think the lions were trying to be slick and pull a fast one.

Now they’re playing victim when it didn’t work.

Right. If you watch the play unfold, no one pays any mind to 68. They let him run free.

A lot of boo-hooing by the media, etc. If it happened against the Cowboys, it would just be the "right call" and sorry Dallas fans. Detroit is the "darling" of the NFL and media, obviously.
"Dallas is so dumb and in trying to confuse the defense they confused the refs instead. The Cowboys will be the Cowboys".

It's typical that the Cowboys get brutalized by the officials on the road the last two games and you don't hear a peep, now you get 3inch headlines for a Lions team that wouldn't have even been in the position for a game winning drive if it weren't for that dyslexic tripping call, they also had an illegal formation on the right side for the 2pt try, and on top of that they get a complete do-over from the original line of scrimmage for the 2pt try after the Micah offsides. Cry me a river!

Meh. This doesn't look good for the defense either actually. 70 reported and then lined up at an ineligible Guard position if I recall correctly. So he actually shouldn't have been accounted for by them. Not good "in the heat of the moment" recognition.

You can judge the media bias by the almost total absence of any mentions of that fact that Lions were only in that position because of a phantom tripping penalty on offense.

Speaking of which, how the heck does the ref blow that tripping call? Did she think we tried to trip our own player?

If #70 is reported eligible I don't care where he lines up he needs to be accounted for.

1) 70 is the only one who the ref says was eligible
2) 68 may have stated he is eligible but their hijink and crowd noise caused the ref to not hear him
3) It is very likely he did say he/s eligible, and in his mind the 2 pt was legit
4) If the ref did hear him call eligible, he would have called it out for the Cowboys to hear---thus, we would have put a body on 68 who would have not caught the pass

Game over, except the whiney ESPN crew who are totally clueless to see above
