Meh. This doesn't look good for the defense either actually. 70 reported and then lined up at an ineligible Guard position if I recall correctly. So he actually shouldn't have been accounted for by them. Not good "in the heat of the moment" recognition.
He lined up at tackle with Sewell outside of him in an unbalanced formation

It was obvious Detroit botched the trickery of the refs. The refs did not fall for it. And some of our fans don't like it.
That is what gets me, some of our fans don't like we won.
Don't be bothered by 3 people on a website......it's not worth it. An optimist would look at the 99% of us that like the win Instead of the 1% that dont.

As myself and other have said the only reason #68 was wide open is because the refs told everyone #70 was the eligible guy.

This can also be confirmed by Damone Clark literally pointing at #70 before the Lions snapped the ball.

Do not allow the media to write the narrative of this being guaranteed points for the Lions and they lost because of it. If the refs swallow the flag in that situation the media wouldn't be in uproar regarding Dallas being told the wrong guy was eligible. It would just be another "Oh, the Cowboys are just being the Cowboys" type of narrative.

So, maybe the lions were trying to pull a fast one on the refs and Cowboys? The Lions are not as innocent in all of this as the media wants us to believe?

This is pretty simple
Lions probably told the refs before the game they would try this
They tried it, 70 clearly is running in towards to ref, rubbing his chest..68 probably says something as well, but ref sees 70 running towards him (who's been the eligible person previously), sees the chest rub, points at him and tells Dallas and over the PA...70 is eligible. This is why 70 kept yelling he didn't say a bleeping thing....HOWEVER you were giving the signal you were checking in.

Throws to 68....illegal touch.

Lions got cute and it was so tricky, the refs were confused as well.

The whole refs meet with the teams before the game to discuss trick plays etc, thing doesn't hold water for me. If this is a serious thing then I suggest we come up with our own plays ahead of time and warn the refs in these pre game consults..something like this:

"Okay stripes, we are going to run a few trick plays where we will play peek a boo with their WR1, so when we tug them on the shoulder it's only to have them play along with us, it's not really PI"

Obviously. Rex the clown Ryan went off on how bad the Lions got robbed. If that conversion counted, we'd be talking about how the ref told the D 70 was the eligible. And we'd be right.

I looked at it several times, and I would be more apt to believe the QB. The tape showed him giving the players the play, and show Decker walking over to the referee with another player may be Skippy??

At best I think the referee screwed it up, and was afraid to lose his job. The crew apparently has done this before this year, and will be broken up after this year because they're known for making critical mistakes. That's where I'm coming down not that it matters. I got the outcome I wanted, and I don't care whether the referee was lying, cheating, or just plain got confused.

I checked out Phillies webpage to see how they felt about the victory.

Eagles fans’ hopes and dreams came true Saturday night.

The Cowboys won.

As strange as it seems, the Cowboys helped the Eagles Saturday with their 20-19 win over the Lions at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Because even though the win lifted the Cowboys to 11-5, the Eagles remain in control of the division at 11-4 and will become the first team to win consecutive NFC East titles since the 2003 and 2004 Eagles by beating the 3-12 Cards at the Linc Sunday and the 5-10 Giants at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford next weekend.

And by dropping the Lions to 11-5, the Cowboys gave the Eagles the opportunity to get in front of Detroit in the NFC playoff hierarchy because the Lions – already with five losses – can’t catch the Eagles if they get to 13 wins. The Lions would have won a two-way 13-win tiebreaker with the Eagles based on a superior record vs. common opponents.

Thanks to the Lions losing, two wins guarantees the Eagles the No. 2 seed at worst. And that’s crucial because even if the 49ers lock up the No. 1 seed by winning their last two games – at Washington Sunday and home vs. the Rams next weekend – there’s tremendous value in earning the No. 2 seed, even without a bye.

The No. 2 seed can’t play on the road in the postseason until the NFC Championship Game, and if the Eagles were the No. 2 seed and the 49ers lost in the conference semifinal round, the Eagles would host the NFC Championship Game.

Of course they accounted for 70. Campbell is a cheat and a crook, like Bellichick, who will not bend rules, but will steal calls, deflate balls, or violate the spirit of any law to win. That is classic evil and cheating. The purpose of the rule should not be circumnavigated and Campbell knew that but did it anyway. His career will be tarnished and he will continue to cheat because he will win at all costs.

If the refs were wired this wouldn't be a controversy. Both players talked to the ref, I saw video of the QB telling them what to do, and pointing to the refs to report. The only thing you can assume is the players in question forgot what the quarterback just told them, or the referees forgot what the players told them, he lied, or he just plain was confused. Then when you look back at the referees track record this year of botching critical calls, and the fact they will be disbanded because of it after the season and split up, common sense tells me this was the refs mistake if I'm to be honest with myself. I guess this will be another area 51 conspiracy theory for the next year.

How do you know the QB was telling them what to do? Also, I thought I heard the ref call out that #70 was eligible, so I think he stated that based on what was reported to him. And, at the end of it all, the Lions still had two more opportunities (thanks to Parsons) to get the football into the end zone.

I have crapped all over Jourdan Lewis’s name a number of times over the years.

He is bar none, the best player on this defense right now.
Nice. Taking your medicine ain’t always fun or easy.
