If a QB is used to wearing gloves, and he can wear them in the NFL, I have to wonder why he would not wear them at his pro day.

They may be testing out his grip strength. I would wonder about his hand size. I think hand size and grip strength are very important and overlooked attributes of a QB. You need them to prevent strip fumbles and to throw in cold and crappy weather. Ken Anderson was one of the best in cold and crappy weather and didn't fumble. Big paws on him. The same with Aikman.

IIRC Aikman had trouble with gripping wet footballs.

If Bridgewater falls to 16th, you gotta take him regardless of the draft needs of this team. The possibility that Dallas ends next season with a mediocre record(let's say 8-8) is real considering the losses on defense, needs on various positions, etc., so there is not certainty that we can land a top prospect QB in the 2015 draft(not a top 5 pick), so if a projected top 5 prospect falls to you this year, you should consider real hard to draft him. Saying all this, i don't think Jerry does it.

No you don't. If you don't think he is a good fit for your team, no matter what other people think his talent is, then you don't take him and let him continue to slide. He is NOT worth a 1st rnd pick. If this was a typical year for qb talent, he wouldn't be in the top 5 and I'm not entirely sure that he is in the top 3 this year. He has a tiny frame and no matter what you think of his "accuracy" it's a huge concern. He doesn't have top flight arm strength and his size will get him killed at this level. He isn't playing against 215 lb linebackers and 250 lb dlinemen. He will be going against the best college football has to offer at every position. DO NOT TAKE HIM AT ALL!!!!

some people in here really dont even need to be arm-chairing a draft scout position.

how on EARTH can someone who completes almost 70% of their passes be said to not be accurate? LOLOLOL. Come on people. Please try to be real here.

If you want to knock teddy, at least talk about his frame size and weight. At least then you would sound competent.

What's it going to be then, eh?

i can find a game that peyton manning played horrible too....woopty doo

Obviously missed the sarcasm.

I used to laugh when people would downgrade players because of the Combine, but now it is even happening based off a Pro Day. It is completely silly.

I watched a lot of his games last season. He was ridiculously accurate and unflappable in the clutch. Not sure why people are knocking him honestly.

I'm with you here. The kid has ice running in his veins. Accurate and clutch, good decision making. Sounds a little bit like Breezy to me. Someone is going to get a really good football player with this kid.

Very easily.

Look at former Kentucky QB Andre Woodson.

He was completing a very high percentage of passes. But, if you looked at him in games he was throwing screen passes almost exclusively.

I don't think Bridgewater was doing that. But, in today's college game completion percentage can be skewed. And I know that the scouts are more interested in their completion % based on how far the ball traveled in the air.

I am talking about WITHIN teddy's body of work...I couldnt care less about some other joke of a QB like andre.

You can watch 5 minutes of video and watch teddy hurling it 50 yards down field.

here is the truth on why people hate.

1) they want the pick used on defense so they tell themselves every offense pick is worthless and stupid
2) they start seeing $$$ and thinking about what tony makes and not realizing that a draft pick makes peanuts comparatively.

That's why I said 'I don't think Teddy was doing that.'

It's just assuming that one can look at the total completion % and gauge accuracy is faulty.

Phil Simms made a big deal about him yesterday on Sirius, basically calling him overrated and a product of hype. Even pointed out that the gloves he wore during games hide his deficiencies and that was proven at his Pro Day.

Kiper says that you never know, but if he had to pick which of the top 3 would have a big drop, it would be Teddy.
His worse case (does not expect it to happen) is Minnesota at 40.

I do recall that a few months before the draft last year, everyone had Geno Smith as a lock in the top 5.
Come draft day, he was not even a 1st rounder.

I can't see that happening to Bridgewater, but I'd never say never with any of these "top" QBs this year. None really blow me away.

True.

The ranking of draftable players based on the future needs of Dallas should trump the mandatory selection of a defensive player.
By giving a ill-advised contract to Romo, Jerry & Co. have unfortunately created an automatic impulse rejection of selecting a QB in the 1st round.
It is not inconceivable though that Bridgewater or Manziel could slide to Dallas at 16.

Dallas is not on the cusp of becoming a championship level team.
If a early 1st round talented QB slides to the 16th selection, take the QB and build for the future.
The coddling of Romo as if he should be immune from competition and a younger player should come to an end.

Just some trivia and food for thought; here are the final college season stats for two QBs:

Geno Smith ____6'3', 220 lbs__drafted #39 overall
71.2% comp rate
4205 passing yards
8.1 yards per attempt
42 passing TDs
6 ints
163.9 QB rating
______________________________________________

Teddy Bridgewater___6'3", 196 lbs___drafted ?????
71.0% comp rate
3970 passing yards
9.3 yards per attempt
31 passing TDs
4 ints
171.0 QB rating
_________________________
On paper, the yards per attempt help Teddy some, imo.

I think the yards per attempt help Bridgewater in a big way. The only thing you have to worry about this kid is his height/hand size.
